Bowling for Gnomeregan: WoW Documentary in the Works
By now most WoW fans have heard about the planned World of Warcraft movie, but a small independent film company is preparing to go all Michael Moore on us by filming a WoW documentary. The Dead Workers Party, an independent film company from Huntsville, AL, is planning a feature length documentary on everyone's favourite Blizzard game focusing on the personal stories of gamers and how WoW has affected their lives.
The filmmakers are currently seeking WoW players, within reasonable driving range of their home base, for interviews both in-game and in person, as well as a interested guild for a special feature. The WoW-cumentary will also be on hand at Dragon*Con in Atlanta, GA from Sept. 1-4 searching for interesting stories to tell.

They might want to travel outside of Alabama to get an accurate picture of a typical WoW gamer. Just my 2 cents.

Isn't this the information age - why do they insist on interviewing individuals within a drive. We've all got webcams - or can get them cheap...interview long distance and save to digital format - then incorporate it into the film. We're gonna end up with WoW:South of the Border - not WoW:International phenomenon with 6 million people all over the world playing together.

I think we're being a little hard on these guys. They are a small company without a lot of ressources to travel all over the world.
As for using webcam clips, I would think they would want to use higher quality video. A documentary generally requires the filmmaker to shoot the footage not some guy in front of his PC webcam answering questions.
I think it sounds like an interesting concept, they are going to combine real world and in-game shots to make the movie, which should provide for a unique contrast.

Post #1 is a very shallow minded one. I live in Alabama, and have a lot of friends who play WoW. I also have friends from other southern states that play. I guess poster #1 is ignorant to the fact that Huntsville, Al is home to a major NASA operation, and would have been what Houston is today if not for Lyndon Johnson. Think before you condescend....oh, and, learn2troll.
