Breakfast Topic: Most Annoying Quest
Sometimes you are asked to do easy things, like kill some bears or find a doll. Other times you are asked to recover a couple lock boxes in a sunken boat surrounded by Murlocs. Without a doubt the most annoying quest for me as a new player in WoW was Deep Ocean, Vast Sea. I remember trying this with my first character and dying over and over again. Being new to the game, I never quit, and I eventually returned the lock boxes to their rightful owners. However, each of my other characters that have passed through Darkshore have avoided that quest like the plague. Deep Ocean, Vast Sea is well known for being a pain, but I am sure there are others out there that give it some competition for most annoying quest in the game. What quests do you hate? Which quests are just way more trouble than they are worth?

Any quests that involves Murlocs are damn annoying. Those buggers like to bunch in groups, so it's very easy to aggro more than one of them. Plus the drop rates on the items you need from them (Murloc eyes, fish for Lakeshire quest, and the stuff you need in Southshore to name a few) are quite low.

Deep Anguish, Vast Pains?
I hated how the Murlocs would come THROUGH the walls and floor of the boat...felt a little like standing next to that rock in WSG. But I must say to all who faced similar problems with this quest: Ticket a GM! much to my amazmenet they fixed that problem of murlocs "ghosting" through walls and such on Lightening Blade within 25 mins.

The most difficult quest of all was the hunter epic quest for me.
You need to kill those 4 mobs alone, without your pet, a great amount of skill is required.
A lot of fun but it gets really annoying when you miss the kill because of an additionnal mob aggroing, or because of an ally player.

Rogue quest for the alliance that takes you to the tower in south Westfall. You're supposed to pick the pockets of some Frankenstein mob that's overly difficult to kill. Of course, there is very little indication that picking his pocket is the key (literally). Then you have to traverse the tower and deal with an elite mob that's at least two or three levels above the quest (if memory serves). Only to open a chest that then poisons you with another annoying quest to rid yourself of said poison.

Along the same lines as Deep Ocean, Vast Sea, is the quest that you get in the Wetlands call the Sunken Fleet i belive. Maybe it is just the underwater quests that are an uberpain.

The most annoying of all is the quests in STV that require you to gather all the randomly drop pages.
*can't recall the name of the quest line*

Every escort ever made ever. Annoying. As. Crap.

Collecting the pages to make the book in Stranglethorn Vale is by far the most annoying quest that I've come across so far. It takes up a LOT of inventory space, and its almost impossible to find the page you really need from a drop. If you're lucky, someone is selling the one you need at the AH.
Also, any quest that has you running between Darkshire and Raven Hill cemetery. Such an annoying jog.

Deep Ocean, Vast Sea sticks in the mind as an annoying one, yeah. The Wetlands equivalent also.
More recent for me was The Ancient Egg, the quest to go into that troll city in the Hinterlands and grab the egg from the cave up top. Not so much because the quest itself is difficult, but because its not reasonably solo-able at appropriate levels and finding a group for it seems near impossible. I only ever managed it by happening to head up there at the same time a level 60 Horde was helping a guildmate do the quest.
The fact that its part of a quest chain leading to Sunken Temple that you need to summon a boss just adds insult to injury.

I would agree with the rogue quest in Westfall. Finally took a 60 with me.

/Agree with Synack (#5) - Escort quests blow -- but only because the escortee walks at about the speed of a senior citizen with a broken leg.
High level drop quests - I say high level because until I hit the 50-60 range, most drop quests -- while annoying -- seemed to drop with somewhat relative frequency. At the high levels that, for me, seemed to change drastically.
Additionally, each and every quest that has you venture from the farthest reaches of either of the continents to the farthest reaches of the other for the purposes of TALKING to someone really blows. I could be actually doing something of import rather than spending 20 minutes flying/running somewhere.

Most annoying quest is the druid aquatic form. It's a lot of travel, going to places ill described, and requires a knowledge of world geography well advanced of the level of the quest.
Somehow a druid just starting out in tedrasil and barely discovering darkshore is supposed to figure out how to get to westfall and somehow find a single box hidden on a ledge in waters which are nearly fatigue (and WAS fatigue in versions past).

Sorry, but no quest even comes close to the annoyingness of getting keyed for Onyxia's Lair -- Horde Side. Making a key for UBRS comes close, but doesn't involve anywhere near enough fruitless, time consuming running around...

horde quest in Tirisfal Glades... the war against the Scarlet Crusade. It comes in three parts... each part more annoying than the previous (considering I just ran these quests this past weekend on newly rolled alts).
First part sends me down to the tower south of Brill, by the exit of the sewers from Undercity. Kill some folks down there and kill one particular person in the tower.
Second part sends me up to the NE of Brill to kill more folks and a certain character.
Third part sends me further NE of the last location to kill more and go after this one person and his two bodyguards.
Would not be so bad if I didn't have to run back to Brill each time.
What else is there?
Buzzbox in Darkshore... rogue quest in Westfall... any quest that has you running to and fro constantly. Let me go in... do my thing and have it be done. None of this 5+ parts before finally truly being completed...

Since I haven't played Alliance since the first three months this game existed, I don't remember much from those days ... but for young horde-lings ... Samophlange is the worst. Freakin' goblins take off just before they die and if you're a class that can't pin them down or slow them ... the aggro just won't stop. A horrible, vicious cycle to try and solo (not impossible, but annoying).

Retrieving the Cats Eye Emerald in the Barrens. Drop rate fluctuates to heck and mobs respawn like rabbits. AND the quest is level 18 or so but is given at 13 or so, so the temptation is high to do it early. Or maybe it's just me ^_^*

The most annoying seem to be the most recent in your memory cause you're still ticked off at them. STV and the Animal Masteries is annoying.
The Missing Courier in Feralas is annoying.
The Woodpaw Gnolls in Feralas, trying to find a small clickable item 'among the Woodpaw Gnoll camps'.
Thank goodness for Thottbot or I would STILL be looking for those backpacks...

I can name a few...
-The quest to enchant the mallet needed to summon Gahzrilla in Zul'Farrak. You have to climb up a fairly large temple, all outside. On PvE this is probably not that big of a deal. On a PvP server, it's gank city. I tried to do this quest several times, and each time my group would get sandwiched between groups of Horde. Having a Horde flightpoint nearby didn't help matters.
-Warsong Supplies in Splintertree Post. You have one random drop to find, one item to get from a camp of Satyrs, one trip to Booty Bay to make, and you have to find a Deadly Blunderbuss. What ought to be a 20s-30s gun can go for 1g or more thanks to this one quest.
-Orb of Soran'ruk, Warlock quest. Go get a random drop off a mob in SFK, then go get THREE random drops off Twilight Cultists in BFD. Had to run BFD twice in order to get all the pieces. Oh, and then the quest reward is garbage.
-The Rescue, out of Tarren Mill. You have to find two jailers in Durnholde Keep, kill them and take their keys. Then you have to find the orc prisoners and release them. Annoying because the jailers spawn all over the keep. Sometimes you can go in and finish this in ten minutes. Other times it'll take well over an hour.

Annoying and rediculous, is the level 33 quest in hillsbrad called Heculars revenge.
The fact you have to take the charged staff and place it in the grave where heculars remains are; which just happen to be past a couple layers of ?? guard patrols. This quest is rediculous do to the fact you have to corpse hop to the graveyard, and then plant the staff. (ohh and make sure you have instant quest text on, or you'll never get it planted in time before a guard comes and whacks you in the head again.
Simply put thats the most annoying quest, just to make you feel stupid. Level 33 quest my butt. needs to be re tagged as elite.

The Necklace quest in Uldaman, no question Three! different trips in there, with a special vial to use that only has 4 charges. All for a lousy necklace that isn't as good as the Triune Amulet you get from the easier and smaller SM Cathedral.
