Breakfast Topic: Carebear or Ruthless Ganker?

Or possibly somewhere in the middle? All kinds of nasty things go on in the day-to-day life of someone on a PvP server...gankings, camping, etc. The question is, do you ever hit STV for the sole purpose of griefing some level 32s near Nessingwary's Expedition? Or do you corpse camp pallys just because, well, they are pallys?
I must admit I have a long ago retired level 34 Night Elf druid on a PvP server, and I have him camped in Thousand Needles. Every couple weeks or so I log him on, stealth, and just gank some level 27s as they quest and grind around the zone. I don't usually camp them, unless they annoy me by calling in like 4 of their friends after I get them initially. Then I turn on the TV or get out a book, follow them around until their buddies leave, and gank them again. And sometimes again. But usually three is my limit.
What about you guys? Do you often partake in some gankings and corpse campings? Or are you a polite carebear and from upon those tactics?

What's "carebear" about frowning on corpse camping and ganking? World PvP (for me) is more about a fair fight, unless somebody's done something to annoy me. I don't see much point in killing lowbies, because it's a waste of time for both of us. Sure, "if it's red it's dead" is a valid way to play the game - after all, we are at war, I suppose - but I have plenty of other things I need to work on ;)

I kill green leveled players with no problem but I rarely go for a grey and I usually don't kill the same person twice on purpose. If I bump into them and they charge at me I will kill them again but if they start running away I don't bother really.
An exception was a level 47 warlock running around silithus the other day. They really shouldn't be there at that level so I killed them. >.> Doesn't make sense written down but it made sense in my head. lol

Unless I am in the middle of something, I usually follow the "If its red, its dead." policy. Most the time, I will only kill them once. If they /rude or do anything like that to me or they try to run, I will kill them two or three or maybe four times (depending on how far from the graveyard we are and how long I'll have to wait). That was my philosophy with my priest. Now I have a hunter at lvl 50 and I have no plans of ever taking this guy to PVP so as soon as this guy hits 60, if I am not out farming, I will be in Redridge multishotting lowbies and civilians.

I try not to PvP to much mainly because I suck but I have been ganked and camped so many times you can guaranty little alliance will be ganked and camped as well.

I stick with those my own level... but I do kill any 60 Alliance I see in most areas. Unless it's in an "unmarked safe-zone" like the Plaguelands farms, then I camp them if they attack me first.

I never go after grey's unless they are going after my own side's lowbies. I also generally try not to gank while they are obviously going through quest steps.
But on the ohter hand; if I'm leveling up an Alt and you come and kill it, I'm likely to log on one of my higher level toons and come hunt you too.

I always read stuff about PvP, and I notice there is alot of "I try to" and "I usually don't, but..." Just admit it, if you are on a PvP server, the only reason you are there is to annoy other people to the biggest extent you can.
There is no personal honor in killing someone more than once, even if they /rude you or try and get back up to watch over them. That's just them being annoyed at you killing them beyond the honor you get (if any).
Carebear is also an offensive term to those of us on PvE's. Just because some of us don't want to have to spend half our gaming time corpse running doesn't mean we're weak or soft. I do PvP on my server in the grounds, and I'm pretty good at it.
PvP usually brings out the worst in human nature, consider: "That group has a few people who grief me, so I'll turn and grief them all." If you want to PvP on a server devoted to it, fine. But don't cover up your own little demons by trying to smooth it over with, "It happens to me, so I do it to them."

I gank whenever I can, unless I'm busy doing something else (like heading to a PvE raid). Greys are not usually worth dismounting and killing, unless they are doing something that would piss my character off. Like killing friendly NPCs or players. Or tagging my mobs.
I don't corpsecamp, though. I will allow enemies to resurrect, drink, eat, mount up and ride away. If they do not leave after a few /shoo's, I assume they're here for a fight and kill them again.

Reading stories like this, I get envious of folks on PvP servers.
But then I realize I can /afk wherever I want, farm however I want, and be more crafty about how I get folks to toggle /pvp. :)

Well there are no "I try to" or wishy washy crap with me.
I generally don't instigate much PVP. If I do, I won't do it while they're distracted with a mob. I'll wait for their fight to end and if they're near life, I'll send my pet after 'em. And if I win, I run off to do whatever I was doing. I've been ganked and corpse camped so much by alliance that I don't do it back. Why do to others what pisses me off?
If i see a grey, I'll run up to them and dance and smile and wave. I figure if I can be nice to them, maybe they'll be nice to others.
Ganking just irritates me. I was just playing and I was being corpse camped by a ?? Night Elf rogue for about half an hour. before I rezzed at the graveyard and logged

I often take my 60 rogue to Nessy's and wait around for an unsuspecting 30 to turn in a quest. At which point I begin a long, and rigorous quest of Stalking, Ganking, Camping, Helping, Confusing, Annoying, and Ultimatley destroying, My newfound friend.
I admit to intentionally leaving my lowbies in area's where he is likly to be ganked, so that I have a valid excuse to execute and Stalk people.
I love it when They get their geared out lvl 60 mains and guildies. Because I am a rogue, I pick who I fight, and I pick who lives and who dies.
You can't retaliate against someone you can't see.
I gank anyone, for any reason.
I Will hunt down Paladins, just for being paladins. I hunt down Gnomes, just for being gnomes.
I have a massive list of people who camped my rogue while leveling him to 60, and I have every single one of them on my KOS. And when my Kill on Sight goes off, The Camping begins, even if it is lvl 60.
I will chase anyone, anywhere, If I have to sneak into Ironforge to kill them I will. I dont care about DK's and I dont care about repair bills.
I have a guild tag that should be remembered.

I gank anyone i see that needs to be ganked... yes that means greys greens 60's with half or less health... it doesnt matter to me... and most of you will say that its wrong and i need to get a life... well the way i look at it is... hey it happened to me so im going to make sure it happens to everyone :P ...

I sense a lot of frustrated nerds in real life so they have to take it out on someone in-game and grief them... either that or you're all are just really bored. And it's not just players either. I've had my experience of people ganking NPC's just so I can't turn in my quests.
I don't instigate PvP myself. If I see someone in STV just trying to finish their quests, I leave them be. But if they attack first, then you better be ready to put up a fight... lowbie or not.

I have a 60 rogue, and I am on the alliance but I very much agree with #12, I joined a PvP server only for the fun of "ganking". I am not going to call someone a "carebear" because they wish to play the game a certain way. I am notorious for stalking my prey and waiting for them to be on a mob, only to come up from behind and cheap shot. Some may say that is weak and what not, but we all play our class, a rogue has stealth and we are allowed to pick the fight we want. You only kill your enemy when he is at his weakest, any war game strategist would know that concept. I just put that strategy into effect and don't feel one bit of remorse about it. I have spent some time at Nessy's, enjoyable on a multitude of degree's. Right now I have found that a lot of my fun is coming from places like, Felwood, Azshara and Winterspring. Making those poor 50's cry and not feel quite so tough. I camp when I have time to, in between rep building and questing. Ganking is what PvP servers are about, and I have fun with it.

It depends on my mood. Sometimes I run up to them and give them a hug. Sometimes I run up to them and chop their heads off. Sometimes I dance with them until I get bored and leave. Sometimes I dance with them until I get bored and kill them.
Level doesn't matter to me much. I'm confident in my ability to kill a higher level player. Once I kited a ~40 human warrior across elwynn forest on my level 19 orc hunter and finally killed him near the gryphon master in Redridge mountains. I was there to train Charge Rank 2 for my boar and he decided to give chase. I knew he was under 40 because he didn't have any SM gear and he didn't mount up to kill me.
Life on a PvP server rocks. I was originally PvE but trying to duel horde becomes to much for my weak psyche. I couldn't handle getting rejected over and over again. Now I can force myself on people and (even more exciting) instead of always try to fight people they come to engage ME!
Absolutely awesome stuff.

The way I see it is if you dont want to be ganked and corpse killed, dont roll on a PvP server.
It happens plenty to me and while I find it frustrating, its the life I chose and I'll stick it out.
After leaving people well alone up till my mid 30's then repeatedly getting camped near Hammerfall, my demeanour has done full turn. Anyone, ANYONE from the opposite side in my vicinity is going to get some tauren fist in the mouth. I dont care how high level above or below me they are. If its contested territory then we are fighting for land, if were fighting for land and I see an ally, I'll chase that ally for upwards of half an hour if I have to, likewise I even enjoy being chased. Keeps you on your toes, keeps reactions up, enables you to learn your class better. Human opponents wont stand and fight till a tiny bit of health then run off to try and bring more adds on you. Humans have plans, techniques, quirky styles of play that you dont get PvE'ing.
Thats part of the fun of being on a PvP server, its more like the real thing. Were at war after all, there may be a shaky truce between us, and up till mid 30's I was prepared to uphold that but Hammerfall has taught me valuable lessons in WoW. And given me a lengthy Kill On Sight list aswell :D

Oh yea, I forgot to add:
If someone is dumb enough (and this happens way too often) to try to catch me by surprise and gank me while I'm farming and FAILS... Oh man, I camp them for an hour or until they spirit rez. Once I caught a guy I was camping when he spirit rezzed (it helps playing both sides to know where all the grave yards are) and killed him one more time for good measure.
Of course I let him hearth after that because he gave up.
A word to the wise:
Do not EVER gank (cross faction duels don't count) someone unless you're confident you're going to win. Because if you fail, you will suffer.
As a side note, if someone succeeds in ganking me I'll kill them once and be done with it unless they like fighting me.
