Real life wedding rings get Soulbound

A member of the WoW Ladies livejournal group, Tsuraibara, and her husband figured out a completely awesome way for them to customize their wedding rings. Since they "met on an online game, the engraving was free, [and] 'soulbound' sounds nice even if you aren't familiar with WoW," they actually went out and got "Soulbound" carved on the inside of each of the rings. That's great!
I liked the plush Shammy a lot, but I think this might be my new favorite real life WoW item. Of course, this does mean that they won't be able to put these on the AH anymore. But if for some reason an upgrade drops (maybe on a wedding anniversary), a vendor could probably offer them a few gold at least.

Awesome idea! Maybe when my boyfriend and I get married (we met on WoW too) we'll go the other direction and skip the real life stuff altogether. My night elf looks awesome in a wedding dress.

Personally I think this is fantastic.
While I embrace the nerd inside me, I am in no way limited to my nerdish side. In fact the only reason I started playing MMO's was because I hurt my knee while training for an Ironman -- swim 2.2m, run 26m, bike 110m).
While I have met -- and had relationships with -- several amazing woman in the real world, the love of my life is someone I met through WoW. That being said, I think there is nothing wrong with giving a shout-out to the way you met -- be it WoW, a hiking trail, a bar, a bookstore, where ever...

I think my wife would laugh at me, slap me, or divorce me (or some combination of the three) if I suggested that we personalize something like wedding rings with a phrase that comes from a computer game. In her mind, it'd be akin to my asking her to put some other woman's name on her wedding band - NOT going to happen.

But back on topic... I honestly think its a great idea... You know that the brides friends who have no idea what MMO even stand for saw that and thought it was adorable. Kudos to the great idea go to them!

On topic: Hey a wedding is personal to the couple and defines them... we had Nerf guns at ours! We weren't playing WoW when we got married (only because it wasn't out yet.)
Also in some religions, their perspective is that in marriage the two souls 'are' joined and bound together... so hell they might see themselves as soul mates who are soul bound.
My question is do they play the same faction still? might marital fights be solved by a WoW-based duel/pvp?

Tsuraibara here, my guildies just found this link and sent it to me. I had no idea someone submitted it here but I find it amusing. I'm glad to see most people seem to understand why we did this. It was for fun and it does have a meaning to us. Besides if we don't like it later it's easily removable. :)
