WoW TCG: At the Darkmoon Faire Chicago

I also saw lots of people playing the game-- there were beginner and advance tournaments running all weekend-- as well as a special section Blizzard had set up with Upper Deck to allow visitors to play on a special LAN server, where they ran scavenger hunts and PvP events ingame. Tons of people brought tons of cards, and everyone got to throw down and try to outlast their opponent's heroes more than once over the weekend. A gallery of pictures from the Faire is below-- thanks to Upper Deck for putting on the event in Schaumberg, and we can't wait to see you guys again at Blizzcon.

Magic the gathering rip off period

Well, yeah, but why not? I mean, Magic is the biggest, most long lived, most played TCG in the world... kinda like WoW is for MMOs. The way Magic works and the way the WoW TCG works are fairly similar in some respects, different in others. The reason people play it, is because it has elements from their favourite Lore universe in it.
My question was going to be: Why are there so many morbidly obese people in these photos? Then, I reminded myself, they were taken in the USA.

After browsing through the pictures... man what a sad place to be on a Friday night. Not that geek-dom does not have its place, but the size of the room rented to the number of players makes it just seem like a crapy turn-out.
I am not sure if there was a place in Chicago that Friday night that could be more "where to go to NOT get laid".

Heh Brian, it was definitely Nerd City. About half the room was full-- they told me it was going to be completely full on Saturday, but how many (and what kind of) people are you really going to expect for an event based on a CCG? I'd expect Blizzcon is going to look about the same.
But everyone there was having a good time, so more power to 'em, I say.

True Mike!
Although I suspect they are sparce, there were a few hot girls in the Blizzcon pictures last year.
It gives me a thought. If a real dedicated WoW player were to connect his computer to exercise equipment in order to generate power, then by the time Blizzcon came around he could dress himself like a hulking warrior or something. I am willing to bet his chances with the hot WoW nerd girl would be incredibly high.
Man, this idea is gold. I think I should write a screenplay and send it into the lifetime channel!

Stop putting adds on the website that keeps pulling you to the top of the page PLEASE! It is REALLY annoying to keep having to scroll back to post you were reading (or while writing this comment)
