Petopia drops more updates

Mania's posted a ton of updates for Petopia-- and all done while planning a cross-country move! Doesn't this girl ever sleep?

Lots of untameable pets have been added (which you can see by the ~~strikethrough~~ on them), and pet family damage, armor, and health modifiers have returned. There's a new Tips and Tricks section that's got a few good guides in it already, and the pet skill calculators have also been supplemented and updated.

Petopia is just an amazing resource for Hunters (in fact, I can't think of nearly any class-specific resource that's so useful-- when is someone going to start up a "Totemtopia" for Shamans?), and Mania's great work on it just keeps making it better and better.

I honestly never understood the depths and complexities of hunter pets... until I rolled one. I think you might have the same problem or were going for a cheap laugh with "totemopia".

The data present in petopia is unfortunately unavailable on any datamining site. I've chatted with the wowhead folks in their irc channel and they're hopeful to get taming/training info available "soon" (of course not an official statement and shouldn't be considered such! hey I'm a software dev too :P) of course aside from answering "what pet should I go tame at level X to get more pet abilities?" petopia has tons of good info, but the big ability list is what gives her repeat visits.

I rolled a hunter, because of pets alone. There is so much diversity in the game for hunter pets.
I am a HUGE fan of Petopia and I emailed Mania to ask her if the Boar Spirit (A boar with ghost skin like the Ghost Saber) from RFK was tameable or not. She quickly jumped into action within the same day and emailed me back a reply.

I hope Blizz adds in more pets with Ghost skins or other special abilities.

No, Basic, I love my pets on my Hunter, and that's why I like Petopia so much. I was going for a cheap laugh with Totemtopia, yes (most of my writing is cheap laughs, I'd say :) ), but Hunters are spoiled in that they have great resources like this made specifically for them.

Petopia RULES! We're not spoiled, we're just lucky to have such a great fan of our class to spend all the thankless hours it must take to keep it all updated. Ok, we're a little spoiled. ;0P
