Petopia releases a 2008 calendar
But the kicker is this: a 2008 Petopia wall calendar. Featuring fun screenshots (and even some original art) of the best and most favorite pets in the game. I love it. Echeyakee, Humar, Takk the Leaper-- all the greats are here to count down 2008 with you. At $25 it's a little pricey, but on the other hand, any Hunter would love to have that as a gift this holiday season. Very cool idea to put that together, and totally fun to see your favorite virtual pets show up in a setting like that.

Cool and all, but any product with screenshots is likely to get thwacked by Blizzard. If it was all fan art, it'd be legal, but if you use game art, it's not legal to sell it without permission. Since I'm sure folks will enjoy this, I sure hope they GET (or have gotten) permission. Otherwise you'll have an article to write soon on how this was shutdown by CafePress & Blizzard.

Unless there is a special deal worked out with Blizz (which there certainly might be) I would expect this calendar is going to be a REALLY limited edition....

I would've suggested going with fan art/illustrations. Screenshots are gonna be bad news, I'm afraid. Someone at Petopia needed to consult a copyright/trademark lawyer first, I'm afraid. This is likely to get dinged by Blizzard.

OK I'm gonna revise my previous comment. It looks like SOME of the illustrations are highly stylized fan art, which I think may be OK. But a few of them look like Photoshopped screenshot from the WoW Modeler. Those may still be problematic...

That picture up there...it just doesn't look "right". It's actually a little disturbing.
