Undocumented changes so far in patch 2.4

Now we're to my favorite part of a new patch -- sussing out the undocumented changes. Everyone's really known about the patch notes for months, but it seems like every time Blizzard releases an update, there are always plenty of undocumented changes that don't quite make it in.

WorldofWar.net has a good set of changes so far: Troll offhands are small, Gruul's Lair's and Kara's reset display is off, and Shamans' Mental Quickness talent doesn't seem to be working. A few people have already noticed that there is no repair character on the Isle of Quel'danas yet, but that's only because the daily quests haven't moved forward yet -- with a bigger foothold, the Shattered Sun should be able to bring in a blacksmith or two.

Void Reaver seems to have been buffed a bit, the Shaman clearcasting ding is bugged, and I've heard that the Blood Elf mounts (a.k.a. Chocobos) will now squawk on demand (though I'm not sure that's new). Seen any other undocumented changes on the realms yet?

Names of players in the BGs are now showing up as -US3-BG (or something similar, I don't remember exactly). But if you click/whisper a name, it enters into your chat bar in the old convention of -. When you send, the game doesn't recognize any players of that name.

I'm pretty sure the first part is an intended change, but that second is kind of annoying. If you're trying to whisper someone specific, you actually have to type their full name and suffix...

That should be <name>-US3-BG.

Let me just try that whole thing again... *sigh*

What about the PVP BG change? The opposing faction's servers have been omitted from the bg tab. So you will not know if you are facing a premade.

The BE mount sound is new, I remember being bothered that they were silent before the patch.

Has anyone else downed the 25-man Kael since the patch went up? Last night we had him doing absolutely none of his abilities in phase 4-- no phoenixes, no flame patches, no mind controlling, no pyroblasts, no nothing. He just smacked the tank till 50%. This may have just been a bug in our raid but it was not normal. All the rest went the same, though.

The mage portals and any portals in shat have a new sound effect that plays while they are open. Also, the warlock's soulwell has a new sound effect that plays while it is up.

the spawning of mini-ravagers in the netherwing mines has been changed. I counted at least 7 just hanging around with the larger ravagers (flayers?).

For the first time *ever* I had killed all my mini-ravagers before I was done with my flayers.

Prince in Karazhan has gotten wise to several "safe" areas and now seems to send those pesky drops ALL over. No place appeared safe so it's back to moving in unison for now.

They upped the amount of ravagers in the Netherwing mines by a ton. There's more that patrol, and a few that remain semi-stationary.

I made a topic about this on my server forums (Sentinels) and as someone put it: "There were 5-7 ravagers in one room, as opposed to 5-7 in the entire mine."

They also removed the pre-quest requirement for the murkblood miners. You can now get the quest "Crazed and Confused" from the NPC that used to provide it before, but without needing to farm blood terrors endlessly to get the 'escape plans'. Once you hit friendly reputation, you can visit the npc and he will give you the quest.

But all the Battlemasters are significantly larger than everyone else of their respective races.

In Kara last night, at the chess event, when a few of our pieces died we were teleported all the way back to Curator. When we finally got back to the chess board, the fight was over, those of us that got kicked back we're unable to loot our badges or be assigned and loot. Im guess this is a bug though, rather than an undocumented change. least I sure hope it is :(
