Licensed to play WoW

Wil's new license plate, as seen over on WoW Livejournal.

Also see the discussion here, the frames over here (if you don't want to actually have a custom plate), other suggestions (most of which seem like bumper stickers -- "My other car is a griffon"?) here, more discussion here, and many different WoW-related custom plates here.

Not sure what it is that drives us WoW fans to adorn our cars with inside jokes and lingo from the game, but it does seem to provide a fun hint of Azeroth while driving around. If you've got something cool on your car not seen here, send it along to us, and we'll add it into the gallery below.

I like the "WTF NOOB" plate. But I know here in California, they make you explain what your vanity plate really means when you submit your request. Hmmm.. what the fruit?

They have WoW credit cards, they need WoW plates. I might replace my Panthers (NFL) plate with a WoW plate. That would be uber nerdy with my big truck (Titan).

Much like WoW shirts and tattoos, I'm personally against publicly flaunting my inner nerd. I'm in the closet, and the novelty of something like that on either of my cars, while amusing, is going too far. Even if only a certain part of the gaming community would get the reference. I play the game, I understand my problem, that's enough.

My neighbor's license plate is "KAEL". Every time I see it I wonder if they mean what I think they mean. It's a Honda Odyssey, so I think it's just a coincidence.

Haha, I wondered about that too. They work at Microsoft, so there's a pretty fair chance they're geeky. Never did get up the nerve to ask, it's sort of awkward when you unexpectedly meet a couple of midgets, or whatever the proper term is.

((Don't ask how I know, but there can't be that many Honda Odysseys with the KAEL license plate, can there?))

Standard numberplates in QLD, Australia are three numbers, three letters. I recently saw the plate '101KEK' (LOL KEK!), and thought that the driver must be a WOWer.
However, I later noticed many vehicles with the KEK suffix - looks like KEK is just what the Transport Authority is up to in issuing the plates.
Now I want to find the guy again and offer to buy his plates from him :)
