World of Papercraft

We've seen all sorts of fan-made World of Warcraft crafts from clay sculptures to tiny felt dolls. Now, a fan from China has come up with some interesting paper sculptures of WoW characters. Posting on a forum, a fan showed some mad papercraft skills with paper renditions of familiar Warcraft NPCs such as Keeper Remulos, Gordo, and Baron Rivendare. The crafter also seems to be more of a Warcraft III fan as one of his works is an Acolyte unit from the popular RTS, as well as a Crypt Lord and some ships from the scenarios. Come to think of it, most of his sculptures look more like War3 units than WoW-themed, but they certainly look nice enough. Besides, they all belong to same World, anyway.

hey, forget figureprints, what if you could print out a papercraft version of any character? It would be a huge pain to make, but since the models are fairly simple you could make a very accurate version for free!

Now someone figure out how to make the model viewer auto convert to a flat print out, and I'll get my scissors ready. (Not really, I'm sure there's a ton of reasons why this idea cannot work)

Well if you can download and print these " http://www.yamaha-motor.co.jp/global/entertainment/papercraft/index.html " off then i don't see why these characters can't be done either.

It looks like they may of just figure out how to get at the UV's. The UVs are the skin texture painted on a electronic base page. Unless the UV is scaled funny so you can hide seam problems, its preatty much already flattened out for you making Paper craft rather easy to accomplish...
