End of Season 3 reward requirements
Season 4 starts next week. As a result, this coming weekend is going to be a gladiatorial weekend for many folks, fighting to get their Arena rating high enough to score end of season rewards. Blizzard has posted (on both US and EU forums) a reiteration of the criteria to be considered for those rewards -- they look pretty much the same as they have before.
The requirements for a team to be considered for end of season rewards are:
- The team must have played at least 20 games during the season.
- The team must have at least one player that has played in 20% or more of the total games for that team.
Players on a team that qualifies for consideration, must do the below to be counted:
- The player must have played in 20% or more of the total games for that team
- The player must have a Personal Rating that is not more than 100 points lower than the Team Rating (your Personal Rating may be higher, however).
So, there it is. If you want to be considered for one of the coveted Arena titles, you must meet the above criteria. Good luck!

Maybe some can explain this to me. I get the difference between personal and team ratings, but this happened in my guild last week.
A member started a new team, he and a rogue. Brand new team. Both of them started at 1500 PR and 1500 TR. Yet after the week, this is what it looked like:

For anyone who doesn't want to look at a picture, they got to 1907 TR, 57 wins, 35 losses.
But its their personal ratings that bothered me. They were the only ones on the team, and they played the games all at once. Yet their personal ratings were 1856.
Should it not be the same as their team rating? If it is, why did this happen? And if its not, why does that make sense?

Is personal rating not based on other teams you are a part of as well? Both of those players are on other "active" arena teams that could be dragging their personal rating down.

I cant imagine my horrible 2v2 is effecting my PR in my mediocre 5v5, if thats what you are saying. If that is true, that is completely retarded.

decision time... my team will qualify for rival, most likely, except for one person, who joined late and has a personal rating below 2000...
do we play enough games to get his personal up to the team rating and risk the other 4 of us getting challenger instead, or do we keep our rival title, and tell him to suck it up til next season?

Id say, unless hes a great friend, and no one else minds a bit to playing more with the risk of losing the title, go for it. But realistically, if the guy joined late, he cant expect to get everything you are getting.

With the change to the PR TR in arena last patch. during some of there matches they went up against people with higher TRs then they had PR.. say 1700 TR and 1600 PRs, well they gained more TR for beating these teams, and less PR. I am not exactly sure how they calculate the points gained or loss, but I think you gain/lose TR based on the opponents TR, and PR gained/lossed is based off of the opponents PR. So this would reflect the difference.

So wont that have a chance to royally screw teams over that have fought a lot of teams like that, causing them to have a PR that is behind their TR, making them ineligible for the items they should be able to purchase? And to that effect, teams that are rated 2200 to get the top S4 gear might actually have to get higher than that, just to boost their PR above 2200 since it might have lagged behind their TR?
This system they have is seeming worse and worse by the minute.
