New mini Tyrael pet is underwhelming

Having been to the Worldwide Invitational, we were hot to turn in our key that gave us a pet Tyrael. Running hither and yon in the Undercity, we finally found the NPC for the turn in, said the magic words and voila! A floating, lightning-winged avenging angel was ours for everyone to ooh and aah over.

Well, kinda. It doesn't really do anything. There are no animations other than floating. Don't believe us? Check out the video above. At least Sleepy Willy had the good manners to fall asleep occasionally.

EDIT: Apparently he will dance with you if you target him and use the /dance emote.

Sleepy Willy has the good manners to (very) occasionally unleash a devastating eye-beam on an unsuspecting critter.

Interesting... He's got both dancing and sleeping animations when I checked him out in the model viewer...

Go back and play Diablo 2 again.. thats pretty much all he does in that game too.. :) I wonder if they did it as a joke. :)

Maybe he does do things but they're very rare like Murky's tophat dance and Diablo's blowing fire. I know we had to watch Diablo and Murky each for about 30 minutes one time before they did anything...if you move the timer can start over.

Actually, that's not correct at all. You can /dance with him and he'll rock out!

Wow ModelView also shows him with a float-in-midair sleep animation, too...

I tried:

/sleep
/lay
/bored

and couldn't get him to sleep. It might just be an idle animation that I haven't seen yet.

If you target him and /dance he dances with you. Also he had a relaxing animation that is mightily cool, haven't manage to witness it in game though, either it's very rare, or it is triggered by a yet unknown emote.

All hope is not lost, this pet CAN be cooler :P

Barker: "No don't leave!"

*sigh of depression*
*checks crowd response*

Aw, I was expecting his wings to have the same groovy hypnotic subtly-waving movement that the "real" Tyrael has. Too bad!

People need to stop listing the things they don't like... It's boring. Ok, so he doesn't do cartwheels and make you breakfast when you log in... It's like.. is it ever enough for people? This is really directed at everyone and not just this article. After playing WoW I must say I have never seen such a huge group of the "I wish this were more/ my expectations were not met." comments.
