World of WarCrafts: Character charms

Here is what you will need:
- Shrinky Dink paper
- Ink-Jet Color Printer
- Image Editing Software
- Scissors (tiny manicure scissors work best for me)
- Clear Acrylic Spray
- Jump Ring
- Jewelry Pliers
- Brown Paper Bag
- Foil

now if I could just figure out how to put the thick balck outline around the character and have it follow the outline.

I use Adobe Photoshop. If you are using a program such as this, you can remove the background in the layer, then add a style onto that layer and set the stroke. This is an example of the stoke options: http://www.doloresjoya.com/images/3dlayer-comic-outline.jpg

Open photoshop
Use the magic wand to cut away the background from your toon.
Copy the layer with your toon
create a backlight or blur, or just free-transform (ctrl-t) the image on the copied layer to be a bit bigger.
Paint that layer black, and put it behind the layer with your dude.
Done!

not having any shrinky dinks handy, can anyone explain why the 50% opaque white layer? Seems it just dulls the colors...

When the image shrinks, the colors will get more vibrant, the same amount of ink will be in a much smaller area.

You can order directly from the Shrinky Dink website (linked in the post) or.. if you live next to a Hobby Lobby, definitely go there. You can print off a 40% off coupon every other week. Ends up being about a $4 savings. :)
