WoW Moviewatch: Divided Soul
Martin Falch is one such machinimator, with his story of love and friendship, Divided Soul. When Kareth and Sarlek meet under unusual circumstances, a bond is formed for what seems like a lifetime, but will eventually crumble. Martin takes us on a journey through their lives, leading us to the outcome, which, according to him, will possibly leave you scratching your head. We don't want to give it away, but he suggests looking at the name of the movie for further guidance.

My interpretation was that they where the same Orc, with a split personality. They didn't kill each other, he killed him self, why? Crazy orcs do crazy stuff.

It's not terribly difficult - again look at the title. The two "orcs" are aspects of the same person.
And it isn't the mother at the end calling Rein pathetic - it's *his* other, more vicious personality.

Wow, that was the most impressive script and voice acting I've seen in a WoW movie yet. Very, very worthwhile. Kudos to the author.

Yeah it seems obvious to me that it was the orc in the lighter colored armor who created the orc in the darker colored armor. As the orc in the darker armor says "you were acknowledged" as he was the visible one to the public. It reminds me of the film Me, myself and irene.
As a boy, the orc needed something or someone to protect him, so he created this alter ego. When his life became more stable there was no need for this alternate personality. Until he had suspicions of his wife cheating on him, at which point the darker armored orc felt it was necessary for his character to be... more stern.
To me it seems the reason he killed himself was that he had no choice. he said that if he wins then his wife would live, and if she loses she would be given a swift death. as it was impossible to defeat his alter ego without first defeating himself, he felt it was best that the personality did not take over and destroy his family and instead chose to take his own life (which was essentially winning) to save his loved ones.

I've never been very much into machinima but this guy is incredibly good. If you want some majorly epic, movie quality, videos check out some of his Tales of the Past series. Tales of the Past 3 is an hour and half long and so incredibly well written and edited it's definitely worth the time.
Seriously, I doubt that there's very many people out there that could claim that this guy is much short of being about the best in the world for story-based epic machinima.
Again, this coming from someone who usually hates it. I thought I'd check out TotP3 for a couple minutes and got so sucked in I watched the whole thing.

This film has beautiful editing, genius camerawork, a riveting script that trounces 90% of the Hollywood movies out there, spot-on voice acting, and carefully chosen character artwork. It has already been praised a thousand times over for these and more in this thread and deserves every bit of it. When my entry loses the WeGame machinima contest to this, it will be an honor just to have faced against it.
But in addition, I want to praise this movie for something almost no other machinima I've seen get right: The Combat! This has, bar none, the best-choreographed fight sequences I've ever seen. The creator has found novel ways to use the limited number of animations available to convey a duel that actually looks choreographed and makes sense. Each action has a clear block, dodge, parry, or hit, the chain of which make up the narrative of the fight. There are no "caveman fighting" moments where they're just swinging at each other dramatically.
This first impressed me when they were sparring in the opening and they, wonder of wonders, actually batted each other's swords away when they made contact, but it also continued in the closing. Never have I seen a movie pay such careful attention to its combat animations. So many are content to just repeat the game's attack animations over and over or snap a few decent-but-not-great shots of swords clashing and slashes connecting and call it a movie. I've even heard it said that WoW's limited animations could never be used to convey a properly choreographed and believable fight sequence.
This is the movie that proves those naysayers wrong.
