Macros saved to server instead of computer in Wrath

Wrath Beta tester Tiwo came across a welcome change when logging into her account on a different computer from normal. The macros she wrote and saved on the original machine were now available on the second machine. She posted to the EU Beta forums in thanks, and Wryxian confirmed the change was real. Macros are now saved as part of your account information, and will be available across any machine you play in.
This is pretty awesome good news. Some playstyles can use a beastly number of macros, and I'm not sure I'd be a quarter as effective on my Hunter without the beloved shot rotation macro. I've been known to change my Arena macros on the fly, customizing what exactly I want to have happen according to bracket. Since I carry a laptop around, whenever I use that machine instead of my desktop, I have to rewrite and update everything. Usually, I end up playing without my beloved macros (or at least the current version of them). It might be a small quality of life upgrade, but it's one that I'm pretty happy to hear about.

As in which addons, of the addons you have installed, are enabled for a given character? Perhaps.
But I can't under any circumstances see Blizzard being willing to *store* addons server-side (excepting the possibility of Blizzard incorporating an addon into the default UI).

That will be good, as long as you remember to log onto your 'main' machine first to save the macros you want. I wonder, will the macros saved on the server overwrite any on a second machine, or will they be cumulative?

I'd hope they were optional. If you have your macro file, then they don't save it, if you don't, then they will.
I don't like the idea of not having offline access to my macros for tinkering with. Now I have to edit/change all of my macros while in-game.

According to the 3.0.2 patch notes, key bindings will be saved to the server as well.

I'd like to see key binds saved for each toon. I always have to change my bindings when I switch between my 70's

This is true but it's worth noting thi isn't a new site it's a blogging site.
this has happened and likeyl will happen quiet a lot. Just look at the "Ask a Beta tester" column, repeatedly asking questions already answered within the same site many times... can't be helped though if people keep asking.
this info is useful to someone though and seems to be news enough to the majority of the eople commenting on it.

They usually don't use in game macros, they use bot programs like Glider.

i was thinking the same thing ... goldsellers and bots will have a hard time.

Seriously doubt the motivation is to find gold sellers and hackers. Saving this stuff to the server can be disabled. There's plenty of justifiable reasons to turn it off. Anyone that's concerned with Blizzard seeing this info will simply turn it off.

One of the benefits of doing this is it allows for smoother transitions between talent specs. Particularly the key bindings aspect. Hopefully they make the store bigger.

This is indeed a cool change, but until it goes live, you know whenever you're playing on your laptop, your keybindings and macros are stored in text files (just explore your WoW directory you'll find them), you could just copy them from your main PC to your laptop.
