Background downloader primed for content patch

Zarhym announced on the forums that the next patch is coming, and it's going to be a big one. The particular of that news, however, they're going to turn on the background downloader to start its work "shortly." Shortly, in this case, means soon enough that Zarhym supplied some tips to how to control the speed of the download. We're expecting all that content they've already promised, which includes:
- New class spells and talents
- Stormwind harbor
- Barbershops
- New Arenas
- A built in Guild Calendar
- New Hunter pet skills
- Inscription
- No more Zul'Aman bears
So, the word's pretty much out. If you have goals you want to accomplish before the content patch hits, you better get them rolling along. You don't have much longer.

I understand the bears will be gone in 3.0 but what about the Champion of the Naaru and Hand of A'dal titles? Will that be 3.0 or WotLK?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't 3.0 and WotLK the same thing? This patch is more like 2.5, just like the patch 1.12 came out a month or so before TBC was released.

you're wrong. with each expansion there are a lot of game mechanics that change for everyone, including those without the expansion. so blizzard roll out this patch ahead of the expansion, mainly to minimise support issues, bandwidth, QQ'ers, etc, etc.
actual WotLK will be what unlocks the boats / zepplins to north rend, and causes the mass exodous from outland. :D

Those titles will not be available when the expansion launch.

The patch out so early is a bad sign. Wrath needs many more months of testing before even a piece of it ( 3.0)
can be released. I feel sorry for the dev having to put out a half finished product just to stave off warhammer

A couple more months?!? Really? The talents are in the final phases of getting polished. I would expect Blizzard to release content patch 3.0 onto the live realms in less than 2 weeks.
Wrath beta IS the PTR for these new talents.

There was something odd with the launch panel today. My addons are all screwed up and half my macros are gone. I'm hoping the newest titan panel is all it needs

This sounds like my experience. After starting the new Launcher, it's just as if I downloaded a new copy of WoW and new copies of all my addons. Everything is in its default state. Hours of work down the drain.

Installing the latest Titan Panel was all it took for me. Very strange though that it impacted the game so dramatically. Half my macros were gone and channels I had turned off were back on.
But the latest Titan fixed all that

Do you have vista? Because in order to download the new launcher, it was set to Administrator mode. That allows all mod settings to use the Program Files folder rather than a virtual other one (ProgramData). Just restart the Wow and it should work fine.

They're not even finished with the talents in the beta. People need to quit panicking about their lack of bear mount.

goin to do a paid transfer to a friends realm then lvl my hunt to 80 and make a DK and the anticipation is killing me lol
What id like to ask is there any new hunter aspects or new traps coming out in the new patch or wowtlk?
