Breakfast Topic: Top 10 excuses to get out of work when WotLK is released

Let's face it. Unless your job is to play WoW (insert my maniacal laughter here), you're probably going to have come up with either some vacation time or "other excuse" to get out of work or school on the 13th of November. Why? Because chances are if you're reading this site then the Wrath of the Lich King release date is just that important. And it is... I mean really... it's the World (of Warcraft) to us all.10. "I'm having an allergic reaction to my cold medicine, and I need a day to recover."
9. "My dog has at a bunch of chocolate last night and I need to be with him."
8. "I have lice."
7. "I need to take a personal day. You don't want to know."
6. "I have to go see my probation officer."
Continue on after the break for the final five.
5. "I think I'm a Cylon."
4. "I think you're a Cylon."
3. "My soul collapsed under the crushing weight of the oppressive capitalist machine. I'll be in tomorrow if I level, however today must play this damn game."
2. "An Elf is telling me to go kill boars. Gotta run."
1. "I'll give you my BlizzCon polar bear mount key if I can just have this day off of work!"

I've already saved up vacation for this, so.. it's no biggie, 4 of my friends are comming home to me, and then we lock ourselves down for 6 days until we are lvl 80...

I think BC proved there is no need to take off work until 2 weeks after the release.

Exactly. I'm looking forward to playing during my already-scheduled time off for the Thanksgiving holiday. But I'm not wasting a personal day on November 13th just so I can sit around and enjoy the lag.

don't tell people this! If they know then 2 weeks after release the server will crash then too.
Especially with Thanksgiving like a week after release it's gonna be like serious.

Ive been saving up holidays jsut for wotlk, yes Im a ttoal addict and Ill be gorging myself on 9 days worth of wotLK when it releases. :D

I love number 4 the most. I think thats the best way to get a couple months off work in a nice padded room.

I personally have vacation time I have to take before the years end (I was just going to take the last two weeks off of the year), but I think I might take a couple for Wrath :D.
For people without vacation time:
1. I can't afford the gas to come to work.
2. My car broke down.
3. I have a case of 24 hour flu / food poisoning
4. My pet fish died.
5. Today is a national holiday in my culture.

Being a post-college responsible adult is the reason we have to dream up excuses to call in sick. We used up all the "I just don't feel like it"s when we were in your position.
Kids these days - can't even slack off correct. In my day...

Hello! Didn't a relative die or get sick or your pet got run over or life was just too much for you about the same time wotlk was released? Professors still have no defense against these exuses especially if you can fake tears or get room mates to call.

I've got plenty of vacation time accrued, I'm not worried.
I'm one of the very few people here in my office that plays wow, so I don't have to worry about someone competing for the time off.
