Maintenance tomorrow - no patch expected
The opening announcement on the game is currently letting us know that realms will be down for maintenance tomorrow from 5:00 a.m. PDT until 11:00 a.m. PDT. While the realms are going to be down, we are not expecting patch 3.0.2 to drop.Earlier last week it was announced that 3.0.2 would come when season 4 ended. Season 4 was announced to end on October 14th, and thus we are all expecting patch 3.0.2 to come on October 14th.
However if for some reason it starts raining cats and dogs and the patch does drop, we'll let you know. But I wouldn't count on it.

Aye, but we'll still hope it drops, even though we all know they need all the time they can get - we can't help it

Thanks Blizzard your the best!

Adam, if it's the 14th, you owe me some item that you didn't actually owe me but I say you owe just to be funny, like a pack of thrills (This fancy gum that tastes like soap. It's awesome).
Because that means I'll have won a bet I placed against someone, I don't know who. Probably myself.

Just watch out for the crows. I hear they fly around midnight.

I just had a 1.11 GB patch download that said WoW-3.0.1-to-3.0.2-Update ... maybe part 1 of more to come tuesday... i live in the midwest and it started about 6pm CST.

Cats and Dogs? It's going to have to be raining frogs for there to be a patch tomorrow! And not just your average frogs, these are going to have to be the ones wearing a top hat and performing vaudeville.
Adam Holisky Oct 6th 2008 9:56PM
All the frogs froze where I live. However my cat decided to usurp my pillow last night for comfort and warmth. He was lucky it wasn't raining him after I woke up with a sore neck.

It's not going to drop, seriously. Maintenance does not equal a new patch >_>.
DON'T GET YOUR HOPES UP NAO =)

I had a part two of the 2.43 to 3.02 patch yesterday. It added to the 821gb I already had for a total of 1.11gb
Of course this doesn't mean it has to be tomorrow... they could want to allow a week of opportunity to torrent it.
But I am burnt out with WoW in the old form and want to move forward

I actually kinda wish we had more time in 2.4. I have a druid I've wanted to get to 70 and get into kara with, still got badge gear to collect on my warrior, and a whole bunch of boss fights I haven't seen yet that people will never run again once Wrath hits.
Maybe I'm just strange.

You've got a week, and then there's going to be a flurry of activity as people start raiding again to try out the new talents and knock over a few final bosses. It's going to be months after launch before most people will be raiding again, so you can bet that there'll be raids going.

news?
blizz has followed ther BC schedule almost to the second. why would they do this different and patch tommorow?

vlad Oct 7th 2008 10:49AM
lol why is it i always read faded posts?
oh cause they stand out from the others. ty :)

The patch downloading is a pre-load. They do that with all major patches so that you're not waiting for several hours for the patch to download once it goes live. :)
nist7 Oct 6th 2008 10:59PM
Exactly.
Most people will only have to wait a few min for the raw data to actually install client-side instead of having to do everything all at once.
TonyMotorola Oct 6th 2008 10:58PM
They've already released the official date as the 14th. You seriously have to be dense to think that it's coming on a date earlier than scheduled.
It's not coming you morons. The background downloader will download pieces of a patch months and weeks before a patch launches live. The background downloader active does not mean you get a patch the next maintenance.
Jesus, how long have some of you idiots been playing this game? Do you pay attention at all?
offday Oct 6th 2008 11:42PM
Obviously not as long as you.
Arcaria Oct 7th 2008 12:21AM
Wish we had an ignore feature on this forum. Tony, you're the reason that people say gamers lack social skills.
mike Oct 7th 2008 2:46AM
You hit it right on the head Tony!
What so sad is Adam doesn't take the time to read wowinsider.
Arcaria, while Tony maybe a little harsh, it's postings like Adam's that clutter up trade and guild channels with people going "Oh I heard the patch is coming out tomarrow." Over and over again.
