Scourge Invasion comes to a close

As of 3PM PDT (6 PM by WoW Insider's clock) the Scourge are retreating from Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms on most servers, and the Scourge Invasion has come to a close... for now. In each of the capital cities there is still an Argent Dawn Champion handing out their Stamina consumables, as well as Argent Quartermaster so you can spend the last of your Necrotic Runes. The necropoleis, however, are all gone.I fully expect we'll see something else crop up in the next week, not only because Tigole said so, but because it'd be really weird if the final week leading to Northrend is completely barren. There are also things we know are coming but aren't here yet... but those are spoilers, so we won't go into detail.
If anything happens, we'll make sure you hear about it, so keep an eye out. I doubt anything will happen this evening, but I've been wrong before.

Spoilers? You do realize this is an MMO that doesn't really have a storyline. Also, it's not a spoiler when the devs are talking about it openly.

I'm pretty sure it's server dependent on how many of the "attacks" you've pushed back and defeated. Mug'thol US is currently still being invaded.

I'm not sure that's true, but it very well could be. My server tackled the necropoli pretty aggressively and multiple servers had the event go away at 3 PM Blizzard time exactly. It could be a huge coincidence, but that seems kind of unlikely.
You definitely could be right, the odds of so many servers ending it together at exactly 3 PM is just amazingly unlikely.

All I can do is speak for my server. But The Necropoleis are still there, and when talking to the Argent Messenger, there's a "We have won 273 battles against the scourge. Stand firms! We must persevere."

Maybe it ends at 300 necropoleis or somesuch and servers are just hitting the tail end of that. Keep us updated, if you would!

The cap can't be 300 because last night around 10pm central we were 307 and some guildies were farming the elites for gold after i went to bed and today when i logged on around 4pm central today (so, what the realms had been up an hour?), though they are gone as of now (6.30pm) so curious to know what triggers it.

I feel like it's been a bit lackluster since the plague stopped. The necropolises were just, tbh, too easy to ignore...way out in zones that people don't really visit anymore. I hope the Finale is awesome!

Boo. I haven't had much farming time so while I bought the mail shoulders and gloves for my shaman, I only managed to scrounge up the leather leggings (which were still way better than the legs I had before). I was hoping to complete my set. Ah well, it'll all get replaced soon enough!

At least Blizz learned from their blunder at the end of the first Scourge invasion, where upon the server's last victory (the 150th IIRC) all the event NPCs unceremoniously vanished and a lot of people were stuck with a bunch of suddenly worthless event items.

I'm curious of the kara boss as well, will it be there until Lich king? Since this world even stuff is all Arthas the lich king, wouldn't it make sense that it lasts until LK arrives?
But think about it, first zombie plague ends, then scourge event, these may just be different phases of the world event.. so something else might be next, and so on until LK.

Tigole said he'd be there for about "10 days" total, and as of today, it's been exactly 10 days since he showed up.
Tigole also said there would be more stuff going on with the event.

Well, that's both good and bad. Would love Arcanite Ripper for my warrior, lv 66 as of now. It looks cool and has a green glow (good match as orc), it's great if you just hit 70, and it's a guitar! So yeah that really does hurt, it's definitely a keeper item. That with the horseman helm, which I also was too low to get :P
I guess there won't be a second chance for the axe ever.
