WoW fall down go boom [Updated x2]

Logging in is out. So is the main WoW website. At first it was just the Argent Dawn server which our own BRK accidentally took down in the name of charity. But now it seems bigger problems are afoot. If you're in-game don't log out or try to change characters, you won't be able to get back in until these problems are resolved. If you need to change your account through the main WoW website, you also will have to wait it out.

We'll update as the situation changes.

UPDATE1: Authentication servers up. Main website still down. Resume your achievement grinding.

UPDATE2: Main website up. All clear. Come out of your bunkers. Or, uh, go back in depending on where you gaming rig lives.

It's working again, at least for a few people in my guild.

The GMs said that the 897 taurens, 55 level 70s, 30-40 level 50s, and the 300 or so Alliance toons

Still, the run was fun while it lasted. I just hope we didn't break anything bigger, though I can't see how we could. And I was logged in to Argent Dawn and got dc'd and now can't get back in.

Had that problem, but I just now was able to login. Seems to be fixed.

Many children will benefit from this so I say it was all win! Don't be self centered. I little play time was lost for a greater good. Makes me proud to have been a part of it.

A couple of battlegroups went down. The likelihood that this took down multiple battlegroups is slim to none. More than likely the GM's had been informed that the servers were having stability issues and stopped it to try to head off the stability getting worse for AD.

Agreed. 1 server won't bring down the entire cluster. And if it does...then someone needs to rethink their strategy.

I overslept during my nap and when I woke up to log in 30 min late for the event, I got kicked back to the character selection screen and wasn't able to log into anything after that....

All's well now and I deleted my lvl1 hunter from Argent Dawn and made my donation.

Good idea BRK! Sorry it didn't pan out, you're a victim of your own success I guess.

I just returned (almost) to the game after a year's break, I spent the entire morning and afternoon (over 10 hours so far) trying to download the client and patches, I FINALLY get to the login screen, it tells me I need to make a payment on my VISA first, which is fine....then the site goes down. This really could be a sign.
