Clearly the answer is the BB Gun for for most us. But there are a few out there that are experience the holiday raiding blues. And they just had their first taste of them.
The simple fact of the mater is that during this time of year it's increasingly hard for players to find raids of any size to run with. It leaves guild leader's heads in knots as they try to make everyone happy, and saddens the hard core raider as they can't work on progression content (especially with a new expansion).
Of course the flip side to this is that in a little over a month everyone will return wanting to raid even more than before. That's a good thing for everyone who enjoys that aspect of the game.

No raiding (blues) for me, I like real life better (most of the time)
For those that have it: I'm sad you'r real life isn't that interesting, but you can't expect everyone elses to be like yours now ;-) If it were, the world would be a sad place to live in.

I'm getting really sick of this "real life" versus videogaming BS. I spend as much time awake as you do, why does it matter that I don't have a husband and kids? I'm sure that I enjoy my day as much as you do, even though I spend a lot of it online.
I had this really amazing experience the other day where I felt an incredible peace and companionship with my two best friends as we sat on a hill in Crystalsong Forest, just looking out over the trees. It didn't matter to me that they were hundreds of miles away, we were together, and happy. It baffles me that people feel the need to draw lines between IRL and virtual happiness, when really, happiness is happiness. Cherish it where you can find it, and don't belittle other people for having access to it.

There is no between RL and WOW BS , unless you identify with your character in stead of viewing it as completely separate.
"as we sat on a hill in Crystalsong Forest ..." well, sure it's a nice screenshot and all, but wouldn't it be a lot warmer interpersonally if you did actually sit together with those 'friends'?

Your an idiot Axolotl. First off, not all people that raid are complete closet cases, playing for 8+ hours at a time. Your making an unfair stereotype about a group of people.
Second off, yes there is the RL vs Vid Games argument, and you are blind and deaf for not seeing it.
Maybe he met his friends via wow, and thats how they socialize? Maybe he lives in an area that the weather prohibits the chance to go out and socialize in public (i.e. blizzards and other bad winter weather)?
Or perhaps hes like me, live in a small college town, where all his friends have moved off to other schools, and doesn't feel like dropping a wad of cash because hes bored.
Hell, my GF and I live about 4k miles apart, and WOW is just one of many ways that we ineract, besides talking on the phone and video chatting.

The holidays will give the majority of people to have time off work to really get that final stretch to 80 and get the rep gear and heroic instance gear to really set themselves up for the next tier of raiding, while I could see the hardcore raiders don't like this it gives a chance for casuals to not feel left behind.
Also, new arena season anyone? I'm sure that'll keep us busy :)

Well im more of a casual raider. so thanksgiving wasnt that bad for me, but luckily after finals next week i can stop tryin to balance school, WoW, and RL for the next month.
So no holiday raiding blues for me, just all the holiday shopping blues :S.

On the opposite side, as a guild leader i know anyone i can recruit during the holiday season will be someone with the commitment i like to see.
Now all i need to do is not let any little kids off from school sneak into the ranks.

No holiday blues here, i took two weeks off the game, come back, the guild is raiding naxx-10 already, and i'm 72. I have to catch up. Its fine, i'm glad for once I have more impt stuff to do than play WoW 24/7.

well this is one of the better times i love in wow. you have christmas comming up (IRL and in game) but more importantly, on my server we have this channel set up for this old group called PUGzone.
basicly, in the summer downtime there were handful of raiders who couldnt do much because everyone was on holidays, so a guy called Nesherke set up the PUGzone and led it. we raided almost everyday and brought anyone who wanted to come on a first come, first servered basis. gear didnt realy matter as those with great gear were able to compinsate for those with badish gear.
we did stuff like hyjal, SSC, TK, and even got BT cleared a few times. plus there was no DKP to worry about, but if you ninjaed something that was the last time you would raid with us.
i hope it regroups over the holidays anyway, maybe give naxx a go :)

Blues? Maybe the poster is in the wrong guild? We cleared Naxx and Ob, and did several attempts on Malygos, got into phase 3 (damn enrage...) last night. Once we get 25 80's we are doing it all again on a bigger scale. We are by no means hardcore...but I don't see any blues, I even saw a ton of people at the Naxx meeting stone!

I agree with ya, we're getting everyone up to 80 and are enjoying ourselves. The wife and I would be 80 by now but a wedding, baby shower, and turkey day interrupted. Not bothering us though, just doing our thing.
