The daily quests of the Kalu'ak

The best way to complete them all is to begin at one of the starting zones and work your way across Northrend. I usually start off in the Howling Fjord with The Way to His Heart since that's the least heavily farmed, then go Dragonblight for Planning for the Future, and finally end up in the Borean Tundra doing Preparing for the Worst.
The Way to His Heart
In this daily quest you have to mate two squishy sea lions. Have fun, and don't forget that soap you made earlier. And what gets two sea lions to mate better than some yummy gooey raw fish?
Planning for the Future
Trapper Mau'i wants you to go and steal some wolvar babies. His words, not mine. They have a good reason to do this though. They need to keep the wolvar species alive and safe from too much killing. So at least they're ethically justified in their own minds.
Preparing for the Worst
If you haven't been able to make your way to his heart or plan for the future, then you need to prepare for the worst. What better way to prepare for the worst than to gather up extra supplies like it's the year 2000 all over again.
Each of these quests will give you some gold and 500 reputation, making a total day's farming at 1500 rep (1650 if you're a Human).
So get out there and help the Kalu'ak!

What exactly are these quests telling us that we didn't already know by reading the quest log and/or Wowhead?
Simply saying "The Kalu'ak have 3 dailies, and here they are" would have been enough. I'm not sure this warranted 3 articles PLUS one article summing them up.

You hit the nail on the head. I can't wait for the 2-week long series on the Sons of Hodir Dailys or the Troll Patrol. ;)
In all seriousness, it is nice of them to break it down for everyone who doesn't want to take the time to research the quests or may have issues with interpreting the quest log.

I am not much for negative comments, but this article was a bit of fluff.
That said, I am guessing that WoWInsider is going to do a similar series of articles for other reputation grinds and having the 'summary article' could be quite helpful for rep grinds that have more than 3 quests.

If you look, we've now compiled all the information on the Kalu'ak faction that folks need to be successful at it. It'll go in our library, get linked around the web, and everyone is happy.
We couldn't be complete unless we gave out all the information, that includes things like listings of quests, rewards, background information, etc...
Our internal numbers show that folks are crazy for the information right now. Whether or not that's something individual people agree or disagree with, I cannot help. But I can continue (and plan to) post more about the various factions. Sons of Hodir will be up as soon a few of the components are locked down / understood with 100% certainty.

what is up with all the quests where you have to kidnap babies or poke babies to make the mother angry? they justify it in the quest description but for someone like me who doesn't really read quests just the bare essentials on how to complete it I see:
Kidnap their babies
Poke these babies with this pointy object to aggro mother gorilla

I am a big fan of wowinsider and read all their articles, I reply to the ones I enjoy and have some value to add.
Most other blogs I read have a signature box, or a way for your blog to interact with their site.
I have received many emails and even replies on my comments here about how they enjoy my blog and it's a nice alternative to wowinsider.
Sorry you don't find the same value, but others do.
Hopefully wowinsider provides another way for players of WoW who run their own fan sites a less abrasive way to link their site in comments so that other people looking for more information on WoW have alternatives to enjoy.

That's the absolute BEST way I can think of to keep readership high- provide quick, simple ways for random users to advertise other sites that report on the same material.
Just the other day, msnbc.com had a link to cnn.com at the bottom, saying "click me!"

I don't know, man. You go steal the children of the Walrus-peoples' dire enemies, the Wolvar. This is already ethically unsound.
But then, you go back to the village, and where are all of these little wolvar poppins? I don't see any of 'em running around.
Then you notice, there are a bunch of big fishing rigs out in the water. And if you did the quests, you've seen the sharks. I'm just saying.

I don't read WoWInsider for filler content, sir.
There are already three posts on Kalu'ak dailies. What am I gaining from reading another post that features redundant material? Also, the quests are fairly straight-forward. Did they really warrant the number of posts featuring them?
A new expansion was released. Can you not find something amid all that new content to write about besides this?

I'm all for gathering information, I'm an information junkie. However, I think the timeliness off this can be called into question.
These are not level 80 dailes, hell, I had one of them open within 2 hours of loading LK. So, why is it that after 3 weeks this post is finally going up?
Is it that Beta information wasn't prevalent? No thought was given to having 'Launch Center' that wasn't just coverage of the launches?
Apparently, the leveling to 80 and raids are so easy that there is no NEED to write up guides for those, or gearing up, or anything like that. Maybe I'm wrong, but the players *I* know that read this site aren't the terribly casual ones, they're the ones that are running heroics, running raids, and looking for that information.
Finding out quests, we kinda got that covered.
I'm not saying there isn't a place for that information, it is good to see. But, I've been waiting for the 'higher' level guides, information useful to those who have hit the top end.
Is it going to be the same once Arena opens? 3 weeks to wait before you start talking about the basic gear you can get with honor?

how about put useful info in the article like how to unlock the kamagau daily -i did the stupid quest chain with the guy at the lift but the guy near the docks still wont give me the daily and the GM in my petition either cant figure out the chain is broken somehow OR there is some OTHER prereq for this daily I cant find any mention of on the net and that wasnt mention by my guildie who informed me of this daily

Thanks for this summary post. I just read it after reading where a hunter can find good gear to start heroics, and after reading a nice piece on how many players are actually at Lvl 80. All on WoW Insider.
Once I begin my grinding (which will be after I explore more) I will go to this along with the others you will have posted on and decide where to start.

The real question is, how is this article hurting anyone? Why bother complaining about something that is not harmful to anyone? If you aren't interested in the Kalu'ak, than read one of the other great articles. They have to have a kaleidescope or articles to please every type of person. Just my input =)

Tbh you aren't contributing to anything also, and not all the readers are level 80 and interested in the "endgame". I found the list with the reputation rewards quite useful, even though I am doing the daily quests for the Kalu'ak already, and I know them very well.
Kalu'ak is a fun faction and their quests are OK, some even funny.
