Sprite Darter tattoo
Here's another tattoo, this one faction-independent. Adikchun on Zul'jin (who is a Forsaken Priest -- maybe Alliance don't get tattoos?) sent me this one after we posted the big Horde tattoo the other day, and while yes, she plays Horde, she says she got the Sprite Darter pre-BC because it was the only pet that only Alliance could get. I'm not quite sure I understand the logic there, but it is a cool tattoo, and she's right: it is a little more subtle and original than all of the Horde insignias. And while it means something special to WoW fans, it works as just a nice piece of art if you don't actually know what a Sprite Darter is.

I'm sure she'll love having this stuck on her arm in 20 years...
Maybe somethign small on the shoulder is ok, as you can hide it as the years pass, but stuck on her arm?

She very well could love having it on her arm in 20 years. something small on your shoulder is going to be the more likely tattoo for someone to regret because you didn't go big and make it look good. If you are the type who wants something small and hidden chances are you are not going to be the type who wants the tattoo at all in the future.

I'm quite fond of my arm tattoos. I have been quite fond of them for well on 10 years now, and expect to continue being fond of them for the next 50 and 80 years. After minor touchups. A good piece of art is a good piece of art, no matter where it is on your body.

@John Actually it would be more likely that the person with the small tattoo that is easily concelealed will be less likely to regret it. Chances are that person thought more about the future when they got it, than the person who opted for the "OMGITZHUGE" tattoo plastered on their arm.
Some people don't regret tattoos as they grow older, but a lot do. And its not usually your own thoughts that should be considered. COnsider future employment. Try getting a federal government job with a giant dragon, eagle or whatever all over your forearms.
I'm not 'hating' here, I have a few tattoos myself and love them, but I also have seen the other side. My Dad had a big spread winged eagle on his arm from when he was 20-something and did the whole biker thing...still loves his bike at 55 years old, but paid $3000 to have the tattoo removed so he could wear a shortsleeved shirt in the office.

Not everyone in the world is ashamed of the tattoos they get. Some people actually get them because they love art and choose to celebrate art in a lasting, integral and blatant manner.

*GOOD* is the operative word here. The coloring is quite nice, but I am surprised that the line art has such little dpeth considering it is influenced by a 3D game...

I'm not tattoo artist, but...geez...the line art looks like something out of a dollar store colouring book. The colours are beautiful, though. Yeesh.
Maybe she should've gotten someone else to design it...? =/

I love all the 'wait 20 years!' responses. Sorry but you don't know what you're talking about. Perhaps the moron who gets some meaningless tribal looking arm band on the snap decision that it looks cool will regret it in time, but that's hardly the case for true tattoo lovers. The dragon on my arm will be 25 years old in March. I got it because I love dragons and have never regretted it. In fact, since it has faded somewhat, I'm thinking of having the color redone and some details sharpen to celebrate.

I love tattoos although I haven't gotten one yet. Each time I find one I like I print it out and tack it to my bedroom door where I'll see it every morning when I wake up. If I don 't get sick of looking at after 6 months, I'll get it. And it will be on my upper leg, decent canvas size and easily hidden (or not as I decide) under evening gowns, which I have social occasions that require.

I agree with Twowolves. I have several tatt's and work in a professional environment. One being a tribal motorcycle I designed and have proudly inked from the bend in the elbo to my wrist. Most people don't even notice it. My boss saw it for the first time the other day and thought it was cool. I'm just surprised it took her this long to notice it. She asked if it was new...I told her yeah... 10 years ago.
Though I wouldn't recommend forearm tatt's, tattoo's aren't the taboo they used to be...with exceptions of facial tattoo's.
Adikchun's tatt is good. I wouldn't put it in the awesome category though.

Oh god! I find women who "tattoo" their body parts with motifs from games, especially from games, ridiculous and disgusting.
Generally I find Tattoos and Piercing, like the one where you have a 20 cm hole in the ear, repulsive and totally disgusting.

Just keep truckin' along in mom's basement, dreaming about the hot chick at the coffee shop with the hockey pucks in her ears who giggles to the other barristas whenever she sees you coming. She's waiting for you to validate and approve her existence, so give it a go, and remember: nothing says "I'm better than you are at your life decisions" than some random asshole with nothing better to do.
