Extended maintenance for January 13th

The login screen is announcing an extended maintenance tomorrow morning, from 3 AM PST until 11 AM PST. Will we be seeing patch 3.0.8 tomorrow morning? Well, I say no, probably not. My gut says the last PTR build was too recent for it to hit live realms, but Blizzard is fairly unpredictable when it comes to patch releases. I'm bad at predicting patch dates anyway, so listening to me is probably not the wisest thing ever either way.If we hear anything to the contrary, we'll be sure to let you know as soon as we see it. As always, patch or not, WoW Insider will be here for you all morning tomorrow if you're looking for your fix.

I can't wait for the one maintenance that Alex says is not the patch to actually be the patch.
Seriously though, this patch can not come soon enough. "WTB Infinite Dust (whatever you have)" is getting old.

lol, you say no. Did you just turn your eightball over for that one? Of course it's tomoro. 3.08 is even more broke-ass then the current build, they know they need to just cut their losses and try again with 3.1

Aren't *all* maintenances 3-11 now? I haven't see that called "extended maintenance" by Blizz for a looong time.

No, back during the summer, and a little bit last semester, all the servers required was a rolling restart. 15 min down, and then back to w/e you were doing.

Rolling restarts aren't generally called "maintenance" per se. I'm just saying, 8 hour maintenance is the new norm, unlike the 6 or whatever it used to be, so everyone calling the new 8 hour "extended" is being a little sensationalist.

They always say they're extended now, then they end them an hour or two early. They're farming good will.

Just in US. The EU servers are still doing short maintenance. Suspect the servers are a lot healthier.

It's more that the patches are applied to live servers for the first time in US. They spend a lot of time trying to make sure there are really no major issues.
Once its patch time in EU, all the work has been done pretty much. They just patch the servers, only takes a few minutes, and restart them.

This patch cannot come fast enough. I've been looking forward to it for a while now, but lately I feel they're trying to put too much into it.
Blizz, please, release the solidified updates and save some of the buggy experimental stuff for 3.09 or 3.1.

I don't see why some things cant be released now, IE. no racial restrictions on mounts. I'm sick of waiting :(.

I wouldn't be surprised if the patch came out tomorrow. Granted, the PTR just updated, but the update itself is really really minor. Unlike updates in the past there weren't any class changes, just changes to professions.

Well if patch day is tomorrow, it just means I'll have exalted with Hodir one day sooner than I would otherwise (2850 away)
As long as any such patch is not horrendous in application, I'm not going to lose sleep over it

I don't care about that patch.
I want the ETA on the server HOTFIX that will allow NAXX 25 and MALYGOS 25 not to lag anymore. Please Blizzard, implement this HOTFIX ASAP so we can raid again !!
