Plagued and Black Proto-drake rewards to be removed

With Patch 3.1 already on the PTR -- although without Ulduar yet -- the clock is ticking for aspiring drake riders. All hope isn't lost, however, as Blizzard is introducing two new reward mounts to go with the 10- and 25-man Ulduar raid Achievements. Pictured above as mined from the PTR files by MMO Champion is the Ironbound Proto-Drake, which I suspect is the reward for the Heroic Ulduar Achievments. There's also a Rusted Proto-Drake, which is likely the reward for the 10-man meta-Achievement. For those of you working towards the Plagued and Black Proto-Drakes, you don't have long now! Hop to it and don't die!
Patch 3.1 brings us Ulduar, dual specs, significant changes to all the classes, and more! We've got you covered from top to bottom with our Guide to Patch 3.1.Filed under: News items, Raiding, Mounts, Achievements

Okay, I think this is wrong for a few reasons.
First off, the reasoning isn't sound. Since before the expansion came out, these mounts were listed as awards for a meta achievement. They were not listed as "Feats of Strength" such as the bear mount. "Feats of Strength are those achievements that are awarded to people that have been long time and serious or hardcore players. They can't be easily achieved by the everyday player and a great deal can never be gotten at all. There were titles for realm firsts and such... blah blah blah. Never once did Bliz warn that these would be timed or removed for the 1% that could achieve it at break neck speed. :)
Removing it actually trivializes the entire achievement system as a whole because people will loose interest in doing achievements in an attempt to get a reward that may be removed with very little warning. This pretty much runs counter intuitive to achievements systems in any game.
Achievements can be fun and addictive, so can drugs, but I'm not gonna take my chances working to get the good stuff if it's going to be gone before I get there.
I love Bliz, but this was very SOEesque.

From a personal point of view, the whole removal of titles and achievement rewards is very annoying. I only started playing WoW in August '08, and after wotlk was released, i joined a top end raiding guild so I could tackle the endgame instances. These were soon cleared and on farm, and the only challenge lay in going for the 'hard-mode' achievements, such as GotR, and the Heroic equivalent. But hold on a minute, Ulduar is released, so yay, there is a new raid instance, but now, the drake reward for completing the Glory of the Raider has been removed, so the only incentive for completing this is 10 achievement points. And why, because I wasn't playing early enough to be able to attempt these before the patch? Or is it because Blizzard, who rake it in from the millionswho subscribe to Warcraft, are removing a fairly decent achievement reward from the game to pander for the 1% top end raiding guilds who put in 14hr raiding days in order to clear a new instance in the week after it is released? The other 99% of us mere 'casual' players (who pay the same amount in subscription) are therefore penalised for either having a job that restricts our playing time, or some other RL matter to prevent us being online all the time, and, I presume, because we weren't playing WoW from the very beginnning, (I have been rejected from a Top-End raiding guild because I did not have enough vanilla/tbc raiding experience, and therefore because i wasn't playing from beta or whatever).
This may sound like a rant, and it sort of is, but I am very annoyed that an achievement rewards I was so close to getting, has been removed from the game, and trivialised the effort i have put in towards gaining the drake
