Several mods interfering with chat display

At first, I thought the bug was probably Prat's fault, since Prat is the most chat-oriented mod I'm using. However, after taking a look at my Lua errors, I traced it down to CraftyGnome, which I have disabled for the time being. I've heard of this error being caused by a few mods, though, so if you're running any of:
- CraftyGnome
- An old version of Deadly Boss Mods
- Tongues
Try turning them off (or updating, in the case of DBM) and see if that fixes the problem. And if you've found any other mods that you have verified as causing this issue, let me know and I'll add them to the list.

Tongues version 1.0.4.9 was released today, so it may not be that.

I had that, tracked it down to questhelper of all things, updated and was fine. BUT, would love to know if anyone else tried zoning in to a bg, got dc and now ca'nt log in, get kicked at the AV loading screen. Guess what I'm doing right now... yeh, nothing :'(

DBM was doing this to me last night. I'll try updating again tonight, but sites like WoWInterface and Curse were stoopid slow for me yesterday, which I can only blame on them due to my connection speed and the performance of other sites yesterday.

I'm not able to see my outgoing whispers either. I, too, though it was Prat's fault.
I'm not running CraftyGnome or Tongues, though, and my DBM is up-to-date. Odd.

Weird thing is, it's exactly the same for me. I only have DBM, which I updated right before the patch.

If you updated right before the patch you're still going to have problems with DBM. It was updated again however, and I now have no issues with the latest one.

I disabled all my addons one by one and found that Ct Raid Tracker (the guild launch modded version) was causing me to have no whipsers displayed in chat.
Needless to say it was not fun putting in DKP from last night's Ulduar raid by hand.

WIM was causing problems for me last nite. I have not yet had a chance to see if it has been updated.

I found that if I disabled Stubby I was able to view sent tells to my friends, but not with it enabled. I haven't really had any other issues with any other mods, except xPerl and the newest version of Bartender not working properly for me.

It's sad that people need a WoWInsider post to tell them novel troubleshooting techniques like "Try turning them off".

It's not merely about turning them off. It's about what to turn off and what you can keep on. Finding the source of the problem as opposed to just shot gun fixing it by turning them all off and losing all of the nice features addons provide as opposed to just a few.

It saves time when you know which addons in particular are causing the problem. But hey, don't let logic stop you from living up to your screen name there, douche.

Turning them off one by one will do you no good if there is two of them causing it.
What is need is turn them all off then testing them individually (ie turn it of to test the next one)

I've had this issue for some time now, and have tried disabling all my mods but I still have the problem.

I had chat issues last night and wasn't running any addons. Last night was way buggy though so perhaps it's only addons causing problems now.

Stubby seems to be the only one throwing an error my way, and it is only on outgoing whispers.

Be happy your whispers and add-ons are your only problems. After the world server went down 4 or 5 times last night, my character is now stuck in a Phased version of Icecrown. No not an incompleted questline of the zone, but only phased areas showing mobs, Players, NPC's, and any interactive object. I have about 5 areas of the zone that are not completely devoid of life, and Dalaran is a virtual ghost town as well as the entire continent of Northrend. I can't get to any other area of the game, as there are no boats, portals, and no instance portals.

Can WowInsider make a post about the most popular addons, which work, which have updates, and which won't be compatible for 3.1.
e.g., questhelper will not work and will not be updated; xperl was just updated to work; etc..
