The OverAchiever: Guide to Midsummer Fire Festival achievements

A note on eligibility: your character will need to be at least 50 to hand in the items needed for King of the Fire Festival, and at least 65 to get the higher-level quests necessary for killing Lord Ahune in Slave Pens. With that said, we still recommend that lower-level characters participate, because you'll wind up with a ton of experience and gold even if you can't complete the meta-achievement.
Should you complete the meta, you will be awarded the "Flame Keeper" title. I've listed all of the required achievements in the order I think will be easiest/fastest for the average player to do.
UPDATE: Your character is currently unable to honor/desecrate any flame (including city flames) that you've honored/desecrated in 2008, which will make getting enough Burning Blossoms to purchase Midsummer clothing difficult, if not impossible. I'm still trying to find official confirmation that this is a bug (and I assume it has to be, as otherwise the meta-achievement isn't doable), but it also appears that fires have been added to Northrend as well. I'm heading ingame right now to assemble a list with coordinates and will update the post later.
The Fires of Azeroth
This is actually a meta-within-a-meta achievement as it encompasses Flame Keeper of the Eastern Kingdoms, Flame Keeper of Kalimdor, and Flame Keeper of Outland. It requires a lot of legwork and travel time, but should be easily doable for any 60+ character with a full set of flight paths. If you don't have a full set of flight paths, well, now would be a great time to get them; most fires are within a few seconds' walk of a flightmaster. For all new players, in order to "honor" or "desecrate" a fire, all you need to do is right-click on it.
Big thanks are due here to Wowwiki, which very helpfully had a set of coordinates for each fire. The sites for honoring flames aren't the same for the Alliance and the Horde, so I've split them up for separate notation below (but -- as you'll note from the achievement following this one -- you still need to know about the other factions' fires in order to complete Flame Keeper):

See all those fires I just listed above? Namely, the ones that don't belong to your faction? You get to visit them anyway! Again, this is a lot of legwork, but for most zones you should be able to honor your faction's fire and desecrate the opposing faction's, then simply move on the next zone.
Please note that even on a PvE server you will get flagged by desecrating the other factions' fires, so if you're not overly fond of world PvP, you'll probably want to try this during a slow period (or, better yet, with a group). That said, if my experience is any indication, enemy players will usually leave you alone in the smaller townships and villages because they're occupied getting their own achievements. Enjoy it while it lasts, because after that you get to do --

This event can also help you get your Explorer title!! Visit places you've haven't visited.
Reuben Jun 22nd 2009 12:51AM
funny you should mentioned that, because I used this opportunity to finish off exploring Outland was rewarded with that fancy title.
erm.wow Jun 20th 2009 7:28PM
i'm on an oceanic server. the fires i visited last year won't let me talk to them. going to make it very difficult since i am totally incapable of torch juggling!
Shinsei Jun 20th 2009 10:24PM
Same here!! Can't use the bonfires i talked to year ago!! :< Lol now HOW am I supposed to get enough flowers for set...
Ichit Jun 21st 2009 2:57AM
I'm having the same problem, I'm pretty sure I honored/desecrated all of the fires last year, but this year most of these have been carried over and I can't do them again, meaning I'm going to have real trouble collecting all the blossoms I need.
I'm on track for the What A Long Strange Trip... achievement, I didn't think for a minute this would be the one that would scupper me!
romiress Jun 21st 2009 10:07AM
It's a bug, and will be fixed, according to some blues.

I did most of this last year before the achievement system. So now I already have the Flame Warden achievements and the King of the Fire Festival Achievements. I spent my currency on on the Brazier of Dancing Flames, I also got the Mantle and Vestment, but am missing the Sandals. So how on earth do I get 200 burning blossoms to get the Sandals?
I can't honor or desecrate the fires again because I've already done them. I can't sell back the brazier either. Even if I did the torch tossing and juggling every day I don't think that would be enough :-(
flawless Jun 21st 2009 8:02AM
Check the fires in Northrend, should be able to get ~90-100 more blossoms from them alone. Add to that 10 more per daily (not sure if theres two or three dailies, I seem to remember two that awarded 5 each, and one that awarded 10) and you can get the sandals to complete your set.
Wolfeh Jun 22nd 2009 10:51AM
All the Northrend fires will net you 120 blossoms and doing the torch catching and tossing dailies every day until the event ends will get you 140 more.
Kimmeh Jun 21st 2009 10:32AM
Of course this will be fixed; the event would obviously have been tested, and the roll-over not working was clearly a technical snafu.
Panzervi Jun 21st 2009 3:58PM
I really hope so cause i need all the clothes lol and have no fires left
Ewok Jun 21st 2009 11:57AM
Oh yeah, this needs to be fixed. I completed 'A thief's Reawrd' last year, I can't pick up the quest yet I don't have the achievement D:
Eidni Jun 21st 2009 9:29PM
Yay got the title an hour or so ago, I had done a lot of the flames last year, but doing horde flame stealing really helped :)
Hatfield Jun 22nd 2009 10:50AM
Thanks for the guide Allison. Any more word on the Northrend flames? Are they required? I haven't given this holiday a look yet in-game just reading up first.
Wolfeh Jun 22nd 2009 10:48AM
It is indeed a bug, has been confirmed on the Customer Service forums.

Also, you CAN steal the flames from the cities even if you did last year. Currently Silvermoon and Exodar are bugged, though, and when you try to turn the quest in it will say you have already completed it.
SpearXXI Jun 22nd 2009 5:16PM
OMG There is honoring the flame/ desecrating etc in Northrend! I found one in River's Heart, etc. There is more to be found and you can get more currency. woo!
Elfcookie Jul 15th 2009 5:26PM
Would have been nive with a guid with the route instead of just giving the coordinates, also a guide to the rest of the achievements, comments on how to save those Blossom´s, get extra´s in Northrend, how to sell back the shoulders so you can save up for pet and so on :)
Anyone seen a complete guide or should I make one? Might be a little late, but im done with the achievement, and might be bothered to do so :)
Hatfield Jun 23rd 2009 11:28AM
Try WoWWiki - they have the starter quests, etc..

Bornakk said today that an in-game hotfix will recent the Midsummer Festival quests; any unfinished achievement such as Extinguishing Kalimdor will be reset and you will have to start over.
