Damage/Speed: 93-298 / 1.80 (108.8 DPS)
Attributes:
- +55 Stamina, +54 Intellect
- Blue socket with a +5 Spell Power bonus
- Improves crit strike rating by 29, restores 19 mana per five seconds, and improves spell power by 587
- That spell power is the key stat -- along with another high level item in your other hand, it holds its own against some of the best Staves in the game.
- And yes, Val'anyr is shinier and more legendary. But not everyone can get that one, so this one is probably just as good until you're able to farm for the orange.
- Not to mention that it looks awesome. I personally like the "earthy" feel of Ulduar weapons like this -- the shiny stars is nice too, but this kind of art looks better to me.
Getting Rid of It: Disenchants, as usual, into an Abyss Crystal, and sells back to vendors for 24g 26s 86c. Of course, you probably won't get rid of it until you've collected all of the pieces for the legendary (or until patch 3.2 appears, whichever comes first), but until then, it'll probably serve you well.

Everytime I look at my resto shaman holding a caster dagger for Christs sake a little peice of me dies. But unfortunatley the RNG hates me and decent caster weapons never drop. I guess I have to drool over others.

I know the feeling. My Paladin is all iLvL 213+ except for my main hand, Infection Repulser from Naxx-10... I've seen a better healing weapon drop exactly once, and 7 people rolled. Even the 2Her for my ret offspec is 219.

A paladin who is rocking hard modes should be shooting for an Aesuga, off Vezax. It's much better itemized, and arguably as easy to get.
Don't get me wrong, this is a great pally weapon and all, but if you're gonna set a mark for a dream weapon, and a Val'anyr is out of the question, you'd be better served with Aesuga.
I'm not saying any one class deserves this more than another, but I'm happy I passed it to our restoshaman, because if you're capable of seeing one of these, there's better stuff you can get from a paladin perspective.

Just wanted to join the ranks of drooling 'never dropped for me' people. Still using 213 mace from Loatheb despite being halfway through Uld25. Took a hell of a long time to upgrade to that from the heroic nexus mace. God I'd love this, but hard-mode Hodir is still a long way off.

Don't you just LOVE when Priests and Druids roll on weapons like this and then /shrug when a weapon with Spirit drops and the Shamans and Paladins are screwed? I know I do.

Of course it would, just like any other piece of gear that has spell power and no hit rating.
I have one word for those classes that actually benefit from spirit: staves.

I, Priest, would roll on this in a heartbeat. How many nerfs to spirit have happened in the last 2 patches? The spell power alone would make this a rollable weapon for every caster in the game.
Gear is no longer class itemized?
