Our podcast was on the virtual airwaves yet again last Saturday, and in addition to WoW.com folks Eddie "Brigwyn" Carrington and of course Turpster (whose birthday was September 7th, so happy birthday to that guy), we welcomed Phil Kollar, former 1up editor, current Game Informer associate editor, frequent Twitterer, and World of Warcraft guild leader (he's running a guild called In Defense of the Genre over on Area 52, as we talk about during the show), not to mention all-around fun guy. He helped us talk about the latest news in Azeroth, including more Cataclysm discussion, the latest on the faction changes and how they're going, a quick mention of the changes to jousting in the 5-man ToC, and what it means that a guild took down Yogg-Saron in blue gear.
Pretty enjoyable show, if you ask me, but then again I always enjoy sitting down and podcasting for you all. When Cataclysm is released, will new players be required to purchase and install vanilla World of Warcraft, or will Cataclysm be the new starting module? The reason I ask is that it struck me that Blizzard's success comes with a potential problem in the form of the installation size. When Cataclysm is released I plan on buying a nice new hard drive for the pc anyway, but it still worries me (a little bit but not much) that it will have WoW, Burning Crucade, Wrath of the Lich King, and Cataclysm taking up half a terrabyte of data.
A quick look at my WoW folder shows it currently taking up 14gigs of space, so even with expecting cataclysm to go way over the top and take up to 10gigs thats still only around 25gigs. You shouldn't worry about it really.
Very disappointed in the episode, as the audio levels are horrible. The host volume is so low compared to the other guests to where I need to raise the volume all the way to hear him. Unfortunately, when I do that, it makes the audio of the guests so loud that it's impossible to listen.
If you recorded your tracks separately, please tweak the levels and re-release.
The show is always on Saturdays at 3:30pm Eastern unless you hear otherwise on this site. We also like to mix it up sometimes, so people who aren't always around on Saturday afternoons can tune in as well. There'll probably be one more interruption -- a week from this Friday I'm going to be driving to Los Angeles for a move, so we'll probably do the show during the week -- but after that we should be back to Saturdays at 3:30 regularly at least until the holidays.
The show is awesome .. but the audio level issue is making it really hard for me to listen. I need to keep changing the volume on my ipod, and it gets annoying after a while.
I really love the show and will NOT stop listening because of this, but I would really appreciate if you guys could do something about it. ;)
I think you're right. Besides, they'd make me shave off my beard and go without boots. Have you ever tried running through hot lava without shoes? Not pretty.. Really not pretty.

get it organized so regular listeners can log into chat instead of catching the show after its over..
