Brewfest extended by two days

Hot off the forums comes word from Bornaak that Brewfest, that celebration of things like drinking, throwing mugs at invaders, and killing an unwashed Dark Iron Dwarf in hopes that he drops a kodo has been extended two days to October 5th. If, like me, you've been farming him for days only to pass the Kodo to your wife because, well, you love her and want her to be happy (and also you know you're doomed if you don't) then you'll celebrate additional chances to whack him in hopes of Kodo. Or deadly beer stein. Or maybe you just like doing Ram Riding, or got a late start on your tickets. Whatever the reason we can all celebrate the extension of this, our yearly excuse to go back to BRD and kill a dwarf to steal his lucky cha... er, I mean trinkets.

Now get cracking, make every second of those two extra days count. Complete your Achievements, get your loots, whatever you need you have more time.

Last year I was slowly leveling and pretty much ignored all the holidays(except for Hallow's End, I guess I'm just weird that way). Having finally hit 80 though, I'm having a lot of fun with Brewfest, way more than I thought I would. It's not just whacking a dwarf until purples drop(though that is enjoyable, and a quick way to good gear for a fresh 80), but the whole drunken revelry thing is just plain FUN.

So much so that I was really hoping they'd extend it at least a day, if for no other reason than to make up for time lost due to that 3.2.2 snafu last week. But two extra days, I'm all for that, especially for the chance to kill Direbrew with a beer mug and a broken bottle while completely smashed. That will be a better reward than any achievement, title or even progress towards a drake.

This does, however, raise a very interesting and important question: Will the Headless Horseman/Hallow's End receive similar upgrades?

Two extra days is nice.

I'm not sure i'll take advantage of it though sadly, i've more or less given up on farming for the Kodo mount now, having killed Coren well over 150 times or so now and seeing the mount drop 3 times and have 2 of the people that won it later claim they weren't that fussed by it when the ONLY reason i go is to get it is a bit deflating. Especially since as soon as they get the mount they ofcourse stop coming to future runs thus being replaced with someone else who'll compete with me.

It would be some consolation if i got the direbrew remote but alas i've seen that go to 7 other people.

That said brewfest has got to be my favourite of all the holidays in the game as of yet.

Maybe i'll feel a bit more optimistic next year.

Likely in response to the EU conundrum of us being down a day's worth of tokens due to the removed quests.

This change IS relevant in both US and EU, yes?

I really feel for you. I have been luckier this year than last, as I now have the Kodo & remote. Wish we were on the same server because whether I get the Ram I really want, or not, I'll still keep running Direbrew to help friends out. It only happens once a year!

I can completely understand about the kodo dropping, someone else gets it and then they don't bother to show up for the next runs. My guild leader last year did that... he suddenly stopped coming to the runs when he got his mount - on the third day in. Nice team effort there, huh. It was one of the deciding factors for me to stop running with random guild members at the time because of the 4 times the kodo dropped it went to people who were either on alts, who didn't really care about the mount but rolled for the heck of it or just paid off the high roller with 1k of gold for the mount.

I feel bad about this, but every one of my level 80's has a brewfest mount of some sort. I never rolled need on an alt, but when the kodo dropped on my hunter everyone in the group had one. When the ram dropped on my druid - no-one wanted it. On my main - my shaman - I rolled need on the kodo and won it outright.

Pretty sure the lucky charms guy is closer to a gnome than a dwarf.

Maybe the extra few days will give my luck a bit of a boost. Never seen the kodo drop (including last year) and have only seen the ram once (I won the roll though, so my luck can't be all bad).

Brewfest is a great in-game holiday and I'm happy to see it stick around. Maybe it's just me, but everyone seems just a little bit happier during brewfest. Of course, todays Guildwatch would beg to differ, but at least we haven't seen any Direbrew ninja drama.

Lucky you!

All I wanted to do was kill Direbrew with my three 80s, but had to pug it and found myself in one of those groups you read about in the forums: lots of self-admitted 12 year-olds who invited anyone in who had a summon, switched to master looter so the unsuspecting naifs couldn't get anything, then kicked them to bring in another fool, such as myself.

And all because they wanted kodos--not rams, KODOS!

And you wonder why I spent most of last year's BF on the WoW forums, wondering why, oh why, did they have to take the mounts from the vendor and stick them in a boss.

And, no, I don't have any BF mounts on any of my alts, thus the breast-beating since I spent all my BF '07 tickets on clothing and the other goodies. If I'd'a knowed then how Blizzard planned to screw us over, the frickin' clothes woulda waited!

Isn't it still available through a vendor - the bloke that gives you the ram racing quests (or the other one next to him)? I'm sure I sure the option to buy both normal and epic brewfest rams off him.

Though I all ready have both so maybe thats why I could see them?
