Patch 3.3 PTR: Jaina gets a makeover [Updated]

The new face looks to have higher resolution than that of normal human female player characters and could be indicative of the new graphics to come with the Cataclysm (e.g., this matches the higher resolution Worgen and Goblin masks that were unveiled some time ago). This leaves a few more bosses, most notably Thrall -- who's still wearing Level 30 greens -- to get the makeover treatment. We know that Baine Bloodhoof is replacing Cairne, so the latter probably won't be getting a new model. It's interesting to see who else gets a nice makeover. The higher resolution, multi-angled sweet stuff after the jump.
UPDATE: Zarhym says that the update to Jaina comes at a perfect time as she and Sylvanas Windrunner (updated for Wrath of the Lich King) would play key roles in Icecrown. He also reveals that "other heroes" or key figures in Warcraft lore will probably get the same upgraded graphics to give them a more distinctive look.
Patch 3.3 is the last major patch of Wrath of the Lich King. With the new Icecrown Citadel 5-man dungeons and 10/25-man raid arriving soon, patch 3.3 will deal the final blow to the Arthas. WoW.com's Guide to Patch 3.3 will keep you updated with all the latest patch news.

She looks ... snobbish. I mean, kudos to them for upping the poly and giving her a unique texture, and she does look royal but she also looks ... very bitchy. Overall the model is gorgeous, I just question whether it fits her personality.
I'll wait to see it in action before I draw a final conclusion.

I agree. Everything else is great, but the face doesn't suit Jaina at all. It'll be weird seeing her try and sweet-talk Arthas into coming back to the light while her face implies she's about to bitch-slap him.

That particular angle doesn't do her any favors. Check out the "multiple angles" picture: http://www.wow.com/gallery/adams-wow-gallery/2347977/ It looks a lot better, IMO. For the one they used in the article, she's looking up at an angle, which makes her seem even snobbier/bitchier than the model alone does.

I agree that she does look a bit snobby. But, putting that aside, I love how amazingly better her new eyes look. And, if this new Jaina is any indication of human model adjustments to come in Cataclysm, then I am extremely excited.
Because, humans have always been my least favorite character models in the game. And, mostly it's due to their eyes and their somewhat odd upper body. And, despite Jaina's fairly snooty look, I think the adjustments to her model are really promising. And, I hope very much that similar changes will be made to all the human models in the game, come Cataclysm.

Those shots don't really do her face anymore justice. If anything they make her look less bitchy and more like she's just tired.
That said, everything else is perfect.
Especially the chest area.

WoW's artists can never get a face right. Look at Arthas or Kael'thas...they look nothing like they did in WC3. It seems in Warcraft every character ends up having about 17 different faces because they never bother to make a character's face in a new game even remotely resemble their face in an old game.
I wish they'd just pick a face for each character and run with it.

People like Jaima Proudmoore and Varian Wrynn are some of the foulest in the Warcraft universe.
Go read some canon lore and you'll see why she looks snobby. It may even change your while outlook on the Alliance.
I know several people that thought the Alliance was the "good" faction. After imploring them to read some history, they actually SWITCHED factions after they realized how horrid and corrupt the Alliance is.

@boydboyd you are one funny dude. you know people who actually switched factions because of lore? of game lore? are they f'ing stupid? or are you just spouting hyperbole? regardless of whether this stupidity actually happened or not, if you actually ran thru horde quests throughout northrend...yea, i'd say they were pretty big dicks throughout. i guess that'll be a nice surprise to those emo lore people you know.

I always thought she was a bitch, but now the face matches it perfectly. (Still, I find it ugly. At least the other face gave you the impression she might be pretty if she didn't have her mentality and ideas stuck up her ass.) Mind you the angle also looks like she has double chins.
However, I really like the touch up on the armor. The clothing does look a lot better than before, but I seem to notice that the best part of the armor is the chest piece - that looks worked on the most.. me thinks the guys have too much focus on the boob department there. ^^;;
