Pilgrim's Bounty,
WoW's brand-new holiday, has gone live on all servers by now, and players worldwide are busy inhaling huge quantities of cranberries and stuffing
in pursuit of the Pilgrim title and the uber-adorable turkey pet. I have to admit -- I was kind of worried that the first day of the holiday would be a nightmare along the lines of
Noblegarden's egg-camping hell, but was pleasantly surprised by the fast respawn rate of the Wild Turkey mobs and the sheer number of them. I'm also optimistic that the holiday will encourage more people to level cooking, because once you're got the requisite cooking skill for the achievements, the Pilgrim title and turkey pet are fast, easy, and fun (or they would be, if I could just find the ever-elusive Dwarf rogue).
But Pilgrim's Bounty isn't part of the meta-achievement
What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been, so I'm wondering if anyone's just going to ignore it as a result. Are you planning on going for the Pilgrim title, enjoying the holiday in a more casual way, or not planning to participate at all? If you are participating in the holiday, how is it going on your server so far?

I like it but I'm not sure if I'm up for it this time. These things can get kind of stressful.
Also, it seems wrong that to get the cute turkey pet you have to... kill lots of turkeys! That's just wrong!

I'm working my way through these now.
Theyr'e good fun and easily doable so far, as a lvl 80. Just the Turkinator is proving tricky, but that's because of the sheer number of people trying at the same time, so doing that later in the week should help.

It helps a lot if you have a friend run ahead to spot for you, and mark them if necessary.

I like the holiday. It's new and refreshing. I already got the title on my main and I'm almost done on my alt, so it's not too time consuming either. It also has some interesting bonuses, like special feasts, buff food and the +10% reputation thingy. The only annoying part is The Turkinator achievement, because you need too much luck while doing it and when you fail for a tenth time in a row, you want to kick something very badly. But overall, PB has a nice feeling to it. Me enjoy.
Oh, and I wonder where the new polymorph spell has gone to.

It's easy to get it on the first day if the event starts before the daily reset.
I bought the whole prigrims outfit first and have to wait another reset now for the last two rogues.

Yeah, the event started at 1 AM and dailies reset at 3 AM, so I was able to do them twice and get everything I needed.

I was worried about two things, both turned out to be surprisingly easy:
1) The Turkinator - not a problem if done at 5 AM. The respawn rate of turkeys is surprisingly high.
2) Finding a dwarven rogue - was lucky enough to see one after only ~20 minutes of flying around Dalaran.
Fun event overall. =)

Once again, Blizz fails at making a holiday fun and succeeds at making it stressful and annoying.
The Turkinator - I tried this at 5AM and there were STILL people everywhere hunting turkeys. I've been over 30 MULTIPLE times, only to run into an area completely cleared out by somebody else.
Pilgrim's Peril - Somehow, somebody figured out how to destroy the chairs. I went to Orgrimmar to finish this achievement yesterday only to find that every single chair was gone. I wasted a half an hour waiting around to see if they'd respawn and they didn't. I had to logout there just so i could log back in after server restart and get it before they got destroyed again. And I noticed this morning there were only 2 chairs left standing in Elwynn.
Turkey Lurkey - First of all, the gun mechanic is horrible. It doesn't tell you it only has one charge OR that it doesn't count if they're already in Turkey form (for christ's sakes, it should at least give you an error and not let you fire it if not simply refresh the turkey buff and still count.) Also, with the long cast time to fire it, its very easy to lose it to someone else who started casting it a half-second before you. Twice i've seen the rogue i had targeted turn into a turkey 1 millisecond before my cast finished. Too late for me to cancel it. And since it doesn't error or refresh the buff, i lose my charge.
Secondly, even if the gun worked better, sitting in Dal all week waiting to find that one elusive race/class combo still isn't fun in any way whatsoever.
Seriously, how hard can it be to make a group of holiday quests that don't rely hugely on luck, that aren't bugged, and don't require you to log in during off hours or sit in one spot all week? C'MON!!!

Killing 40 turkeys WAS impossible to do in Elwynn forest unless you are the only person doing that quest. The turkeys are spread out over the entire freaking zone and there's always some jerk killing them as well as the spawn time is a laugh. Only once did I even manage to hit 39 and almost had 40 when some night elf showed up and ninjaed the last one I needed... sadly, this achievement seems designed as if only one player would be doing it.
Let me tell you how I really got the stupid thing done. I went to Tirisfal and the turkeys NOT only spawned quicker (a very visible change), but in a very very short ranged area to boot. You didn't have to run all over the entire zone.
All that "they like horde more" stuff is true about this achievement.

I enjoy the event. And it's also a too easy way to get cooking skills.
But then again.. We eat and eat turkey and pie, but no one is going to the toilet!

I actually like the holiday but i just can't be bothered this time round. I'll eat the food for the rep buff but other than that, meh.

I would be going for the meta, but I just rolled a rogue alt pimped out with heirlooms last night, so the Terrokar Turkey Time! is unobtainable for me.
Oh well, 375 cooking in the space of an hour WHILE getting xp, costumes, a cool low-level head armour +food and rep buffs makes for a fun holiday!

My brother spent a pile of gold leveling his alts' cooking skill so they could participate in the dailies; to say that he's a bit peeved to discover that his gold was wasted is an understatement.

Personally I don't like to do these holidays twice, so I've always done them on my main for the meta. Now he's got that, I'm doing this on my alt so he can get his first title. It's fun for a holiday, feels different to the others somehow. And world pvp just outside thunderbluff is a new one.

Me and my fellow insomniac guildies already rolled the holiday this morning, save for a few assorted unturkified rogues. It can be a lot of fun and really easy if you grab a few friends.

...and create some level 1 rogues on a secondary account. Temporary, RAF, whatever....
