WoW Moviewatch: A Moonkin Space Oddity

The video is straightforward and wonderful. The story is about a Moonkin who longs to return to his home. He embarks in a short, earnest quest to put together a rocket, and then shoots off into the sky. The video might feel like it runs a little long, but I promise the final bits make the journey worth your time. The filming isn't fancy or complex; instead, Beebles has focused in on his simple narrative. He lets the elements of his art do the heavy lifting.
Like I said, putting Moonkin and David Bowie seems like a natural thing. Beebles gets a tip o' the hat for thinking of this coupling. And, really, it's hard to go wrong with Moonkin.

To tell the truth, I prefer videos made in this fashion; the rough edges are charming. A lot of machinima now is over-produced and soulless.

That was amazing. Really, really great. It was simple and told a great and amusing story that was easily to follow. Not to mention the fact that it was nice to have a classic, and actually good, song for the soundtrack not some terrible remix of a rap song.

Yes, it was an entertaining video with a nice soundtrack, Bowie is always FTW.
But here is my question to you. How are the various parodies "terrible"? I personally enjoy them, especially Nyhm's and Druidboyz's. You seem to think that because you don't like them, it is bad and that is the end of story.

Unfortunately I have no way to reply to a reply, so I will respond to your post by replying to my own and hope you read it.
My statement was not that all rap parodies are terrible, only that I was pleased that this was not one of the ones that was. Often those which are featured here, the ones you mentioned being good examples, are of a higher quality than the bulk of what is available across the web. Many of the movies I was referring to feature choppy, poorly edited video pieces with less than stellar and often repetitive soundtracks and theme's (read: belf). I am a fan of and appreciate any video that shows some care, effort, and originality regardless of the musical style.
My intention was not to say that my own opinion was anything more than an opinion, merely what my opinion was, generally speaking, in reference to the types of videos discussed above. If those types of videos are to your taste, as they obviously are to some or they wouldn't exist, then by all means don't let my contrary opinion offend or dissuade you.

Retadin, the parodies are steadily becoming the virtual counterpart to the Scary Movie franchise, and all of its spinoffs. It's a very easy formula, and rarely are there any good ones. Each also appears to cater to a specific genre of music, some choose pop, others choose rap, others choose more niche and sometimes even original music to base their parody on. Unfortunately, the latter is increasingly rare. I'm not saying all parodies are bad, just the ones that don't appeal to me (and the ones that are just unnecessarily vulgar).

Moonkin are all fine and good... until it's all you've been looking at for years, and you look like every other one out there.
The cats and bears were a good start, but there's already multiple color variants throughout the world, at least can we change the model colors?

Seriously, this was awesome. I'm not normally a fan of any machinima, it's just not really my thing (plus I hate the rap music that's usually playing), but this was amazing. I love this song and the moonkin fits it perfectly.
You made my crappy day so much better.
