Around Azeroth: I'd rather be lonely

As Valentine's Day approaches, it's important to be sensitive to the needs of those people who have no one special to celebrate with, like Cutaia of <The Cunning Linguists> on Bronzebeard. "After seeing how much the Horde enjoys this holiday, I decided to ditch the hustle and bustle of Stormwind to take a romantic boat ride through the Undercity," he wrote. "Sadly, nobody wanted to join me. I'm so lonely. /cry." Think his guild name might be driving away the ladies?

Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see them on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!

Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word "Azeroth" in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, Val'kyr on mounts, or pictures of the Ninja Turtles in Dalaran. Older screenshots can be found here.

Around Azeroth: Team spirit

As a tauren druid, Kits didn't mind working with Thrall and Sylvanas to clean out the Undercity, even if his own faction leader wasn't there to fight. He didn't mind guarding their backs while they fought their way through hordes of undead. And he didn't even mind when Sylvanas started scratching him behind the ears and giving him fish treats. But he drew the line when she bought him the collar with bells on it. He still had some pride left.

Around Azeroth: Goodbye, cool world

This screenshot is the last remaining image of the infamous ice mage David. It was taken on Saturday, shortly before he was beaten into unconsciousness by enraged, frozen residents of Washington, DC. His limp body was then levitated to the top of the Washington Monument and displayed as a warning to any further bringers of blizzards.

Around Azeroth: Fishing for trouble

Tauren shaman Shocktopus, of our very own <It Came From The Blog> on Zangarmarsh, has already managed to explore the entire world at only level 14. But low-level exploring can lead to unwanted attention from the local wildlife. Looks like his new title is about to be "Thresher Food Shocktopus."

Around Azeroth: Shine on friends, goodnight

Coldflame of <Wrecked> on Dragonblight took this picture after cleansing the spirits of undead crusaders in Icecrown. A good deed, one would think. But who knows? Maybe they didn't want to be cleansed. Maybe they enjoyed the lifestyle of the undead, and we've ruined their very existence by cleansing them. I suppose moral questions like this don't have much of a place in WoW -- particularly since any experienced dungeoneer is going to stand in judgement anyway for their role in the Great Troll Genocide.

Around Azeroth: My little talbuk

When I was younger, I never understood the whole pre-teen girl obsession with owning horses. Huge, expensive beasts with great flaring nostrils who can crush you underfoot with one misstep? Yeah, pass. But I would probably have tolerated a beautiful white talbuk like this one, owned by Shevek of <Felony> on Sisters of Elune. At least until someone developed the genetically engineered flying cougar that I really wanted.

Around Azeroth: It's a long way to the top

A lot of people have waiting for their shot at Arthas (available today!), but upon seeing the Lich King's home security system, Kedria of <Whos Thrall> on Dalaran was somewhat disappointed. "You're telling me the Frozen Throne is on top of this thing?" she writes. "You mean I've been fighting and dying for all this time to get to the top of a pillar of ice? REALLY? Give me five minutes, some matches, and a few Flame Shocks and I'll bring this whole thing toppling down. Screw Frostwing Halls, we can all be on the beaches by tomorrow! Do you REALIZE how long it's gonna take me to get this frozen Festergut puke out of my fur?"

Around Azeroth: Not quite a bohemian grove

As a rule, the undead aren't nature types. You'll rarely see a Forsaken family go on a camping trip, splash through the surf on Westfall's beaches, or just lay back and relax in a field of flowers. (There are some notable exceptions.) It might be the whole rot thing, or that whenever they try to participate in outdoor activities, various local carnivores try to chew the marrow from their bones. Immobile of Skullcrusher is spending some forced time in communion with nature while leveling through Ashenvale, and he looks like he's hating every minute of it. Damn hippie night elves and their trees!

Around Azeroth: You can run but you can't hide

Before you die, you see ... this thing. Elinu of <Cthulu> on Alonsus-EU was attempting Festergut with his guild this weekend, and happened to be the last survivor on one of their many wipes. She grabbed this shot of the approaching boss (plus aggro warning) shortly before being stomped into a nature-infused smear on the floor.

Around Azeroth: Fire and brimstone

What's the proper term for a gathering of warlocks? A conclave? A summoning? A coven? Ah, yes -- a hellraising. Michael wrote in to inform us of such a meeting, which occurred last night in the bowels of Karazhan on the Moon Guard server. "Warlocks of every race were there, as well as a few gate-crashers of a nonwarlock type in disguise," he writes. "This is a picture of us surrounding a pit of infernal fire, basking in our vileness. Afterwards, there was a fearsomeness pageant and storytelling around the campfire."
