Breakfast Topic: Foot in mouth disease

This Breakfast Topic has been brought to you by Seed, the Aol guest writer program that brings your words to WoW.com.

The World of Warcraft is a common topic of discussion in my family. As such, I tend to forget that while my parents might enjoy hearing about my exploits on my shiny new shaman, my friends may not. In fact, they may very likely have no idea what I'm going on about. A simple change in subject can fix that well enough. Laugh it off and move on.

Sometimes, though, I say these things in public. Maybe I'm on the phone with Dad or shopping with Mom, and suddenly a lack of context leads to embarrassing misunderstandings. To wit:

  1. I spent all last weekend grinding on turtles. So many turtles! They just kept coming!
  2. That guy in Tarren Mill is awful! He always convinces me to poison the dog.
  3. I kept beating that priest over and over and he just wouldn't die!

All innocent statements, if you know the jargon and context. All reprehensibly immoral acts punishable by a court of law, if you don't.

The Guild's new music video: Game On

The Guild has released a new music video, which was originally debuted at San Diego Comic-Con last week. This time, they've jumped from the virtual scene into the Bollywood scene. Zaboo (Sandeep Parikh) leads a song in which he tries to convince Codex (Felicia Day) to put down her book and jump into the game. The set is complete with a full ensemble of dancers, wonderful choreography, the rest of The Guild's cast and even a real elephant. They did a wonderful job of mimicking Bollywood style and still keep with their usual sense of humor, which shows up in everything they do.

This comes in the middle of their season 4 storyline involving the quest to build the better guild hall, as well as Codex's usual dose of drama where gaming and real life collide. Check out their latest adventures on Bing.

The Guild season 4 begins

The Guild fans, rejoice!

The award-winning web series starring Felicia Day is back for a fourth season of quirky comedic goodness. Episode 1, entitled Epic Guilt, is available right now for your viewing pleasure via Bing and the Microsoft Network. If you need to do some catching up on the storyline or just wish to refresh your memory of the happenings in the season 3 finale, head on over to The Guild series channel and search for what what you need -- it's all there.

We've previously interviewed Felicia Day, most recently at BlizzCon 2009. And of course, she was also kind enough to stop by our BlizzCon reader meetup and say hello to everyone.

Enjoy the show!

This week's list is long, so I'll get straight to the point! Note: If you're the artist of one of the comics on this list, please pass through the break for a special, clearly super secret club message.
This week, I have devoted a special section to comic artists who chose to comment on the Real ID fiasco through their art.

Sunday Morning Funnies: Lover, not a fighter

It's yet another beautiful Sunday morning, and as usual, there's a long list of comics ready for you to enjoy.

Thanks to everyone who participated in last week's trivia! Peanuts was the answer I had in mind, as I was thinking about the advice booth, which many of you picked up on. Tokkar's guess was even better, and Al and foust117 had similar guesses on the tips of their tongues. Rather than focusing on the booth, they focused on the skit itself. A round of ice cold virtual and imaginary lemonade for all!
