Love is in the air and that means it's time for another It came from the Blog get-together:

When: 5:30pm EST (2:30pm PST, 3:30pm realm time) Saturday, February 13 2010 (Show up at 5pm EST for the Meet and Greet)

Who: Any Horde character, any level.
What: Love is in the Air daily quests.

As you can see, we are also going to be having a pre-event mixer. Many of our bloggers will be showing up for a meet and greet a half an hour before the event. They will be chatting with readers and posing for photos to be posted on the site. So show up early if you wish to hangout with some of the WoW.com staff.

It came from the Blog: Winter Veil snapshots

At the very end of last year, It came from the Blog got together to celebrate the Feast of Winter Veil. We slaughtered dragonhawks for their young in order to bake cookies. We bribed Greatfather Winter. We pretended we cared about what the real message behind the holiday was. And we threw snowballs at Cairne. But mostly, we had fun!

It came from the Blog: Elwynn Extravaganza

Last month, It came from the Blog ran from Orgrimmar to Elwynn Forest in order to punch Hogger and play at the Darkmoon Faire. We took the zeppelin to Grom'gol and then ran north through Stranglethorn Valley and into Duskwood. Continuing north, bypassing the mountains, we crossed the river into Elwynn Forest. Hogger was downed multiple times and there were hijinx to be had at the Faire.

Of course, it was not all fun and games. Whereas most of the lowbies were protected, the stragglers were eaten by fierce jungle fauna. And we could have done without the Alliance funsuckers who KSed Hogger as well as preyed on flagged and naked lowbies. But overall it was a good time.

Reminder: Battleground Bonanza II today

It came from the Blog is holding its second Battleground Bonanza today:

When: Saturday, January 16th, 4:30pm EST (1:30pm PST, 2:30pm Server time)
Where: The Hall of the Brave (where the Battlemasters are), Orgrimmar, Zangarmarsh U.S.
Who: Any level 10 or above Horde character.
How: Ask any It came from the Blog Lurker or Robinator for a guild invite.
What: Battleground premades

We will be forming groups and hitting as many level/group-size appropriate BGs as we can for an hour or so. If you can't make it to the Hall of the Brave in time for the event, you will miss out on the first screenshot, but will still be able to participate. We will also be doing some BG related quests, so there will be some traveling for certain level ranges.

If you are unfamiliar with Battleground play, please do some homework so that it will be more fun for both you and your teammates. Also, if you have any questions about the WoW.com guild, please read our FAQ.

It Came from the Blog: Battleground Bonanza II

I feel the need... the need for another Battleground Bonanza! This Saturday, join It Came from the Blog for some Battleground fun. Here are the particulars:

When: Saturday, January 16th, 4:30pm EST (1:30pm PST, 2:30pm Server time)
Where: The Hall of the Brave (where the Battlemasters are), Orgrimmar, Zangarmarsh U.S.
Who: Any level 10 or above Horde character.
How: Ask any It came from the Blog Lurker or Robinator for a guild invite.
What: Battleground premades

Robinator, my constantly underdressed (they're called trousers, I swear!) level 69 mage, will be playing in the 60's range BGs. We will be forming groups and hitting as many level/group-size appropriate BGs as we can for an hour or so. If you can't make it to the Hall of the Brave in time for the event, you will miss out on the first screenshot, but will still be able to participate. If you are unfamiliar with Battleground play, please do some homework so that it will be more fun for both you and your teammates.

Last time, the groups in the 10s, 20s and 50s seemed to have the most fun. If this is your first character on Zangarmarsh, I highly recommend bringing up a Death Knight before the event. If you have any questions about It came from the Blog, see our FAQ.

It came from the Blog: Our very first Battleground Bonanza

Last week, some PvP minded It came from the Bloggies got together for our first Battleground Bonanza. We split into groups according to our level brackets and had some Battleground fun. Mike Schramm lead the 20s group and I lead the 60s group. There were also teens and 50s groups. We had quite a bit of Achievement spam, daily BG quest completions and honor earning. And, as you can see from the pictures in the gallery, the requisite number of deaths.

As the night wore on, the queue times became painful. So next time -- and I think we had enough fun for there to be a next time -- we'll try for during the day on the weekend. Before we do that, however, we have the Elwynn Extravaganza this Saturday and a Feast of Winter Veil event to be announced soon.

It came from the Blog: Elwynn Extravaganza

The Darkmoon Faire is in Elwynn Forest this week, and that means it's time for another It came from the Blog event. The event will be in three parts:

The run to Elwynn: We will be running from Orgrimmar to Elwynn using a path I plotted out for maximum lowbie protection -- also, photo opportunities.
Hogger Fist Fight: This is not a level 1 Hogger raid. That's so 2007 (ok that link does not go to a level 1 Hogger raid either, but you know what I mean). All levels are invited to this event, but we will be removing our weapons, and not using spells, so we can punch Hogger and his buddies.
Darkmoon Faire fun: We'll buy frog pets, shoot ourselves out of cannons and even turn in stuff if we've been collecting it.

Here are the particulars:

When: Saturday, December 12th, 5pm EST (2pm PST, 3pm Server)

Reminder: It came from the Blog Battleground Bonanza tonight

Are you ready for the Battleground Bonanza tonight? A few It came from the Bloggies have been leveling their characters to either the 10 to 19 range or the 60 to 69 range, though I'm sure we'll have attendees in the other ranges too. Here are the details:

When: Wednesday, December 2, 11:00pm EST (8:00pm PST, 9:00pm Server time)
Where: The Hall of the Brave (where the Battlemasters are), Orgrimmar, Zangarmarsh U.S.
Who: Any level 10 or above Horde character.
How: Ask any It came from the Blog Lurker or Robinella for a guild invite.
What: Battleground premades

We will do whatever Battlegrounds are appropriate for our level ranges and numbers. I want to at least do a couple AVs in the 60 to 69 range, regardless of how many people show up, because even a small premade is great for defending Galv and recapping the towers.

If you are unfamiliar with Battlegrounds, but still want to join, please study up on the strategies. I don't recommend you attend if you get frustrated by multiple deaths, but we'll be having a couple of non-PvP events this month so you can still have a good time with us soon.

Please log on a little before the event so we can start on time. I can't wait!

I love Battlegrounds. I think they all have their positives, though my favorite is still Alterac Valley. So I've been wanting to hold an It came from the Blog BG event for a while and I've decided it's time... Time for the first Battleground Bonanza! Here are the details:

Though any Battleground level character is invited, I will be playing on Robinella, who is a level 60 Death Knight and will therefore be playing in the 60 to 69 range BGs. It came from the Blog: We partied like pilgrims

Last Wednesday night, It came from the Blog got together to Party like Pilgrims. We got some Pilgrim's Bounty achievements and won some loot. Unfortunately, the Guild Roster gets buggy when there are more than 500 members. So I don't know exactly how many showed up, but I estimate it at around 240 over the course of the event.

Blog Overlords Adam Holisky, Michael Gray, Matt Low and Kelly Aarons were there. Adam held a trivia quiz and gave out some loot codes to speedy contestants. And, of course, I was there, but I am the ~~brood~~ Blog Mother. We had a great time and really enjoyed running around with everyone. And of course, we took pictures.

We have more events planned soon. Expect a Battleground Bonanza, a Hogger/Faire excursion and some Feast of Winter Veil fun all in December. We hope you'll join us!

Reminder: It came from the Blog Pilgrim Party tonight

You are cordially invited to party like a Pilgrim tonight with It came from the Blog! Here are the details:

When: 11pm EST (8pm PST, 9pm Server time) Wednesday, November 25th
Where: Meet at the Ruins of Lordaeron (Undercity) on Zangarmarsh (U.S.)
Who: Any Horde character of any level. No mounts required.
How: Ask Robinator, Robinella, Robiness or any It came from the Blog Lurker or above for an invite to the guild.
What: We will be gaining some Pilgrim's Bounty Achievements: Food Fight!, Sharing is Caring and Pilgrim's Paunch.

Robinator will be providing ports to each city (as long as I don't just port myself like I did the other night), so there will be no need for mounts or flightpaths. We may have a few WoW.com bloggers join us for the fun and we also may (no guarantees) give out some loot codes. Regardless, we should have a good time filling up the tables and throwing food at each other while spamming up guildchat with Achievements.

Breakfast Topic: What do you do when your server is down?

The players on the Emberstorm and Whirlwind battlegroups have had a rough week. A massive power outage, huge network issues and other problems have forced them away from their virtual homes to find refuge elsewhere. Some have joined the It came from the Blog guild on Zangarmarsh, where we have had two impromptu server outage parties. The picture above is from Tuesday night's shindig.

Others have commented in the outage posts that they have formed level 1 raids on other servers. And of course there are other games to play.

Personally, if both Zangarmarsh and my main server are down, I figure it's time to start watching what's on the DVR and knitting. What do you do when your server is down?
