WoW.com Help: Installing the WoW.com Tracker
The WoW Insider tracker application accesses information recorded by your WoW Insider AddOn, and uploads it to your profile! Most of this process happens automatically, and without a lot of effort from you. However, there are a few steps to installing it.First, you need to download the installer. If you select "Save to File," it might work best to save the zipfile to your desktop. This will allow you to easily find the file after you've downloaded it.
If you chose "Open" -- or if you're simply opening the file from your desktop -- you'll see a file labeled "!WoWInsider.exe".
This file is your WoW Tracker application, which you can copy and paste into its appropriate location. The best place to put it is your main game folder -- the same location where you keep your WoW.exe file. This keeps it in an easy to remember folder.
You can choose to either place a shortcut to this executable file to your desktop, or simply run the file from this folder.
I'm having a problem!
One of our known issues is that some of our older links to downloading the add-on gave you "!WoWInsider.exe!". Note the extra "!" at the end of the file. You can manually rename it to remove it, and that should solve your problem. Links are being updated to fix this.
What does it do?
Whenever you're ready to upload your game information to WoW.com, run the file. A new window will pop that looks like this:
Select the account for which you'd like to upload data, and select "Submit My Data." The track will automatically fire the information to WoW.com, where it will appear in your personalized profile!
It's just that easy!
