With Newport Academy’s virtual outpatient program, teens and families receive comprehensive treatment without traveling to a clinic.

Virtual IOP: Online Counseling for Teens

Newport Academy’s virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides an ongoing, comprehensive support system to help teens and their families on the road to recovery.

With our virtual IOP, young people can receive the highest-quality care even if they’re not within an easy drive of an outpatient treatment center. With teen counseling online provided up to three hours a day, three days a week, the comprehensive support offered in our IOP telehealth program (available in some states) includes:

  • Group therapy sessions to enhance self-regulation and healthy identity formation
  • Family therapy to strengthen parent-child connection and communication
  • Individual therapy to support continued healing from underlying trauma
  • Support to build skills for navigating transition and creating positive change

For clients and families stepping down from residential care with Newport, our virtual IOP allows you to segue seamlessly from one of our treatment centers into outpatient care, even if you’re not close to one of our outpatient clinics. New research shows that virtual outpatient care is highly effective in creating sustainable, long-term positive change for teens and families.

In addition to our virtual IOP for teens ages 12–18, Newport Healthcare’s family of programs includes a virtual Intense Outpatient Program for young adults ages 18–35.
