Maryland State Parks

Encompassing 16,043 acres, this Park stretches along 32 miles of the Patapsco River and boasts eight recreational areas. This massive park provides plenty of family recreational opportunities such as biking, camping, fishing, canoeing, horseback riding, hiking, picnicking and other outdoor adventures. The park is well-known for its breathtaking scenery and trail opportunities.

Located on the Chesapeake Bay, this day-use park offers a beautiful beach, recycled tire playground, unique fossils, tidal marshland, fishing and 13-mile-long hiking trails. The massive cliffs, after which the Park was named, dominate the Chesapeake Bay's shoreline in Calvert County and were formed over 10-20 million years ago. Kids will love fishing and fossil hunting here, while families can enjoy a picnic on the shore. The hunting of squirrel, turkey, rabbits, and deer is also allowed in the 550 acres of Calvert Cliffs State Park.

Encompassing over 700 acres this park is located on the Northwestern shore of the Chesapeake Bay and provides visitors with endless outdoor activities. The park’s sandy beaches and picnic spots are famous for their incredible views which overlook the Chesapeake Bay. The park offers plenty of things to do including swimming, fishing, crabbing, picnicking, boating, youth group camping, hiking and historical sites.

Nestled in the Appalachian Mountains, Greenbrier provides various recreational opportunities. The man-made freshwater lake spreads across 42-acre and offers swimming, boating, sunbathing and fishing opportunities. Greenbrier's hiking trails pass through the vibrant wildlife habitats and boast a panoramic view of the region's geological history.

Located between the east of Big Savage Mountain and the west of Meadow Mountain, New Germany State Park is known as the area's "best-kept secret." New Germany features ten miles of hiking trails and a small lake perfect for swimming, fishing, and non-motorized boating. Hiking and biking are the favorite activities year-round.

Located in Garrett County, this 365-acre park offers canoeing, kayaking, hiking, swimming, volleyball, picnicking and you can rent a furnished log cabin. Herrington Manor provides 12 miles of trails that pass through the forest. One trail connects Swallow Falls State Park and Herrington Manor.

Located in Western Maryland’s Garrett County, Deep Creek Lake State Park spreads over 1,800 acres and is surrounded by a 3,900-acre man-made lake. The park features camping facilities, water activities, and recreational trails. Deep Creek Lake offers fun adventure activities such as water skiing, motor boating, fishing, and canoeing. The campground has over 100 campsites and 26 of them are equipped with electricity. Trails are primarily used for mountain biking and hiking.

Situated on the banks of the Susquehanna River valley, this State Park offers a diverse range of adventure and recreational opportunities. Susquehanna State Park has some of the most exciting mountain biking trails in the state. It also provides family-friendly campsites and cabins for fun camping. This park has over 15 miles of maintained trails which are perfect for mountain bikers, equestrians, hikers and nature lovers.

Located by the Tuckahoe Creek on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, this Park is surrounded by wooded marshlands. The park features Adkins' Arboretum (native garden) with over 600 plants and a 60-acre lake offering boating and fishing activities. The park offers a wide range of adventure activities that include biking, horseback riding, hiking, flat water canoeing, and hunting. The park also provides special events such as day camps, Scales and Tales presentations, canoe trips and Challenge Course programs.
