Coordinate and collaborate with the Arc of Bristol County to implement programmatic change to better serve survivors living with disabilities. It is expected that the advocate’s job performance will incorporate the practice and promotion of New Hope’s core values, which include respect, teamwork, empowerment and professionalism. This is a grant funded position through September 30th, 2026, without guaranteed reapplication of the grant. PRIMARY DUTIES: Collaborate with the Arc of Bristol County to develop curriculum and collateral materials and provide trainings around providing trauma-informed, accessible services and support to survivors of sexual and domestic violence living with disabilities. Complete client service intakes and walk-in intervention with immediate support around their safety as directed by manager of community advocacy. Assess and assist clients with paperwork to facilitate client access to financial and/or housing support. Represent New Hope at various community collaborations, tablings, and trainings to bring information and resources back to programs/staff around best practices for serving survivors living with disabilities; conduct internal trainings to staff as appropriate. Attend regular department team meetings as well as all-staff meetings Attend weekly one-on-one supervision with senior director of community impact and diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as regular meetings with advocacy, education teams, and manager of community advocacy. Ensure data is submitted promptly and accurately in accordance with state requirements. Complete other tasks as requested by manager of community advocacy and senior director of community impact and diversity, equity, and inclusion. The services are delivered by a core team of staff using a Wraparound Philosophy support which helps family, support members, and service providers work together to support the family or child. In addition, all services are delivered using a Trauma Informed Care approach. The Outreach Counselor will provide an average of three to four hours of direct support weekly to each assigned family. Services will be tailored to meet the unique needs of each youth and family served, providing opportunity to maximize their ability to spend time together at home and in the community.
