Hudspeth County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, the population was 3,202. [1] Its county seat is Sierra Blanca, [2] and the largest community is Fort Hancock. The county is named for Claude Benton Hudspeth, a state senator and United States Representative from El Paso. [3]
I-10 bypassed the original US 80 routing in western El Paso County, and now parallels the old US 80 route a few miles east until crossing it at the current junction with SH 20, where I-10 continues through El Paso, then heads off southeast towards San Antonio. SH 20 follows the old alignment of US 80 until downtown El Paso.
