The new residents founded the "Citizens Committee for the Incorporation of The Town of Paradise Valley, Arizona". After the committee presented a petition to the Maricopa County Board of Supervisor for the recognition of township, the petition was granted and on May 24, 1961, the town of Paradise Valley was incorporated. The 2021 Maricopa County presidential ballot audit, commonly referred to as the Arizona audit, was an examination of ballots cast in Maricopa County during the 2020 United States presidential election in Arizona initiated by Republicans in the Arizona State Senate and executed by private firms.
The county territory was originally defined as being west of longitude 113° 20' and north of the Bill Williams River. [3] Pah-Ute County was created from it in 1865 and was merged back into Mohave County in 1871 when much of its territory was ceded to Nevada in 1866. The county's present boundaries were established in 1881.
Butte County: In 1897, James C. Goodwin, with the support of Charles T. Hayden and others, introduced a bill at the Territorial Legislature to split Maricopa County into two, with Tempe being the county seat. [13] [14] There have also been proposals, introduced in 1900 and 1913, to divide Maricopa County, with Mesa as the new county's seat. [14]
The Maricopa Live Steamers (MLS), had their operations in the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale. They also wanted to enter into an agreement with Sahuaro Central and transfer their operations to the 80 acre parcel of Land which Sahuaro Central had leased. An agreement was reached in 1992.
