Oakville High School was built on the top of a hill. After sinkholes in the school's back lot were fixed, a football field was built on campus. The stadium would later be named "Roger E. In 2006, the school's Spirit of St. Louis Marching Band won the annual Greater St. Louis Marching Band Festival (GSL) in the Gold Division with a score of 79.85. In 2006, the school district was recognized by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education with their "Distinction in Performance" award.

There is a marching band, the "Parkway Central Marching Colts" that plays at football games in the fall as well as marching competitions.
