Early life. Neel Kolhatkar was born on 30 March 1994 in Sydney, Australia, and grew up in the suburbs of Hurstville and Monterey in the city's St George area. His parents are of Indian ancestry, both from Maharashtra state; his mother's family migrated to Sydney in 1962 as part of a collective diaspora of first-generation Indian migrant professionals.
