The Southwest Florida Museum of History (SWFLM) is a history museum in Fort Myers, Florida. [1] The museum is in historic downtown Ft. The opening of the bridge changed the routing of US 41 to bypass downtown Fort Myers. Originally, US 41 went through downtown Fort Myers via Carson Street and First Street, and crossed the Caloosahatchee River on the Edison Bridge, which at the time was a two-lane drawbridge.

The crossing over the Caloosahatchee River includes a drawbridge and series of trestles that traverse Beautiful Island. From Tice on the south side of the river, the line turns southwest and runs parallel the river towards Downtown Fort Myers. Just east of downtown, the line turns south and enters Fort Myers yard limits.
