The Alliance for the Union of Romanians ( Romanian: Alianța pentru Unirea Românilor, AUR, meaning "gold" in Romanian) [22] is a right-wing populist [7] [8] and nationalist [23] [4] [24] political party currently active in Romania and Moldova. It was founded on 19 September 2019 ahead of the 2020 Romanian local and legislative elections.
Language[edit] According to the 2011 census, there are 245,677 people whose native language is romani, this represents just under 40% of the ethnic population. However, this number has shrunk to 199,050 according to the 2021 census [75] results, representing just over 33% of the ethnic population.

After counting all votes, but before the settlement of any appeals, PSD has won around 29.5% of the votes, PNL around 25.5%, USR PLUS around 15.5%, AUR around 9%, and UDMR around 6%. The high result of the quasi-unknown party AUR was considered a huge surprise, while PMP and PRO Romania both failed to get 5% of the votes required to win any seats.
