Kingman is a city in, and the county seat of, Mohave County, Arizona, United States. It is named after Lewis Kingman , an engineer for the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad . It is located 105 miles (169 km) southeast of Las Vegas , Nevada, and 180 miles (290 km) northwest of Arizona's state capital, Phoenix . [5]
The Arizona State Archives in Phoenix has 24 cubic feet (680 L) of original material, including civil case material and photographs, concerning the "Kingman Explosion." The incident was chronicled in the July 1993 issue of American Fire Journal in an article titled "Kingman Revisited".

The house has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1978. [1] Its historic status was reviewed as part of a 1985 study of 63 historic resources in Kingman that led to many others being listed.
In 1993 a new high school outside of the Kingman city limits was built, known as Kingman High School North; it was the campus for the sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Freshmen attended the old school, Kingman High South. In 2006, all high school students began to attend the North campus (by now known as simply Kingman High School).
