The building. The museum is located in Les Tranchées, in the city centre, on the site of the former fortification ring. It was built by the architect Marc Camoletti between 1903 and 1910, [1] and financed by a bequest from the banker Charles Galland (1816–1901). [2] The building is square, with 60 m (200 ft) sides surrounding an inner courtyard.
The École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts was founded in 1748 by the Conseil des Deux-Cents under the name École de Dessein (English: Drawing School). Pierre Soubeyran, the Genevan-French engraver served as the director of the school from 1709 to 1775.

Establishment and location. It was founded in 1817 in a former area of Bastions Park in 1817 by Augustin Pyramus de Candolle. The Botanical Gardens were transferred to the Console site (192 rue de Lausanne) in 1904, constructed by the Genevan architect Henri Juvet in 1902–1904 specifically to house the Delessert herbarium held at Bastions.
