Kingman is a city in, and the county seat of, Mohave County, Arizona, United States. It is named after Lewis Kingman, an engineer for the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad. It is located 105 miles (169 km) southeast of Las Vegas, Nevada, and 180 miles (290 km) northwest of Arizona's state capital, Phoenix. [5]

The Hotel Beale – built in 1900 and located at 325 E Andy Devine Ave. (formerly Front Street). In 1906 the Beale Hotel was purchased by Tom Devine, father of actor Andy Devine. Clark Gable and Carol Lombard spent the night there. It was once the premier hotel in Kingman.

Kingman Grammar School is located on Pine Street and was built in 1928. The school is in the style of the late 19th and 20th Century Revivals. John S. Mulligan, Jr. was the architect and Pierson & Johnson were the contractors from Phoenix, Arizona. It replaced the Little Red Schoolhouse, which is a one-room school built in 1896.
In 1993 a new high school outside of the Kingman city limits was built, known as Kingman High School North; it was the campus for the sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Freshmen attended the old school, Kingman High South. In 2006, all high school students began to attend the North campus (by now known as simply Kingman High School).
