The Kenya national football team, also known as the Harambee Stars represents Kenya in association football. It is controlled by the Football Kenya Federation , the governing body football in Kenya , and competes as a member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA).

Kimanzi was appointed full-time manager of the Kenyan national side on 11 December 2008, [2] having held the post as a caretaker since May 2008. [3] He was sacked from the post of national team coach after the 2008 CECAFA Cup in January 2009 due to disputes between him and Kenyan football administrators. [4]
He was also a key player when Kenya won the Castle Lager Cup in Dar es Salaam and also came second to Uganda in Nairobi.
